I have had these for 3 weeks now. They are the best skates I've ever had!! I Referee for a living and skate 25 days a month. I average 50 games a month with an average of 3 games a night and my feet feel great. They felt broken in with around 12 games or so and me feet never hurt. They are very stiff and the performance level of these skates allow me to stay up with the play. I love these skates!!!Review by Racertaz (Posted on 7/24/2016)
These skates have exceptional feel, comfort and most importantly preformance. I have switched to this skate after four years in the Bauer Supreme Total One. A slight adjustment to this boot was required but simple transition. As an Official it is the utmost importance to not have to worry about your feet when calling a game. Bauer Nexus 8000 provide lightweight, comfort out of the box turning back the clock with the retro fit without sacrificing what is most important preformance. Turning, pivoting and the power transfer in each stride allowing for quick transitions all have been improved with the new Tuuk Edge holder. Bauer got it right with this skate. This skate erased all doubts from making a very important skate switch. The only thing I have noticed that could be viewed as a con, this skate fits a half size bigger then the Total one. I went from size 8E Total one to 7.5D in the nexus 8000.Review by Refgregs (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I have had extreme difficulty in finding a skate to accommodate my foot shape and size. After many years of skating with intense pain in the Vapor line, I made the switch to the Nexus. Naturally, I was hesitant and a bit apprehensive when I bought these skates. To get a feel for the skates, I skated on them in practice sessions for one week before getting them baked. They were great and felt even better after having them baked. However, after two weeks of use (multiple practices and a game; I play college hockey) I have noticed separation between the outsole where the boot meets the holder. It seems to be more prominent on the outer sides of both skates. I have no idea what is causing the separation, but it is extremely disappointing considering the price I paid for the skate. If I have one con about this skate, that would be it.Review by smknight74 (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Just got these after trying on a bunch of others and this was hands down the best fit. I have a wide foot and these fit like a glove.Review by GRETZKY (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I used them outdoor for the fist time the other day in aroud -15 temp and i wasnt to happy. Not sure if it was just me or the blades on the skates but i felt like i was gonna break them seems like they were aluminium and were weak but indoors was amazing. But overall im happy just takes some geting used to.
Bought the skate on sale last week. I've hated the new skate feel, but I've had to dive in and use the new skates since my old skates broke. These skates felt great out of the box, stiff as expected, but after heating them only 1 time, they moulded very well.Review by Coach and Player!! (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Will mould them again for sure before my next ice time.
If you're looking for something that will enhance your stride, and support the foot all around, this is the skate for you. I came out of the old Nike v12 skates from 15 years ago, and this felt very similar.
Could use a little more ankle padding, but overall I am very satisfied thus far.
