The Vapor X500 LE Black Skate is the latest model to get Bauer's Limited Edition treatment. It's the same Vapor X500 you know and love, with an all black exterior, black liner, and black holders. This look goes a step further with inset red details and red accents on the logo and laces.
The Vapor family of skates continues to be the most popular family within Bauer's 3-fit platform. It features a standard v-fit profile which consists of a standard width through the toebox and forefoot with a low-volume, narrower fit in the heel and ankle.
The updated X-Rib pattern, that can be found throughout the Vapor line, was inspired by the OD1N concept skate. In addition to providing structural support to the skate, lab tests, designed to measure performance, showed that the X-rib pattern led to improvements in heel and ankle lock which resulted in quicker cross overs and tighter turns. This pattern is thermoformed into the sublimated tech nylon quarter construction of the X500 LE and also offers a jump start on a great fit, the balance of which can be achieved from heat molding the skate to the shape of your foot.
The X500 LE uses a hydrophobic microfiber liner, which is both comfortable and helps to reduce drying time between ice times. The 2-piece felt design of the tongue features comfortable 40 oz felt and includes a high-density foam metatarsal guard that provides extra support and protection.
The boot sits atop a clear injected TPU outsole, which is a commonly used material for which to mount the Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder. This holder design provides an added three millimeters of height, in comparison to the Tuuk Lightspeed 2 holder which allows the skater to get lower to the ice for sharper, tighter turns without “bottoming out” or in other words a greater angle of attack. The other huge benefit of this holder is the ability to change the runners in seconds with the pull of a trigger. Carrying an extra set of sharpened steel in your bag makes good sense, given the ease of which these can now be changed. The X500 LE comes with the Tuuk EDGE Super Stainless Steel, sometimes referred to as S EDGE Stainless, runner.
In its class, you will find a lightweight skate with great lateral support at a value price in the Vapor X500 LE from Bauer. Check yours out today!

Aesthetically speaking, the Black on Black skate looks great. A lot other stores and websites pitch these skates with the white Tuks, and they just honestly don't look as awesome as they do with the blacks. For the price you truly can't beat these skates either. I bought the skates back in February, and baked them. At first they were stiff but after skating 3 times after baking them they fit great and felt great. I wouldn't trade my skates for any other ones considering the price tag. Only suggestion would be purchasing a better pair of laces, which most people do anyway.Review by Matt (Posted on 5/30/2017)
I skate 2or 3 times a week. Initially the skates were very stiff and a little painful. It took about 3 weeks to break in, but once they finally broke in they are amazing. It has excellent support around the ankles which give the great control while skating. On top of it all they are aesthetically pleasing and look awesome on the ice I would definitely purchase them again.......The only downfall is that the blades that they come with go dull quickly, I would recommend replacing them.Review by Jacob L (Posted on 2/26/2017)
i was hesiitant when i looked at the price tag but after some thought decided to buy these skates... i was blown away by the lightweight feel and all around great feelReview by avi (Posted on 1/1/2017)
Absolutely great value! Besides the obvious eye-pleasing aesthetic, broke in quickly and nicely and 3 other users locally love theirs too.Review by DaveJP (Posted on 11/26/2016)
If you want something lighter and the top quality, then feel free to dole out $899 for the 1X LE
delivery was a pain. The issue i faced was customer service did not know i used a gift card and held my order for three days. other than that i love these skates and for a player with up to 6 practices a week and some times 2 games a week these skates are wonderful and hold up to expectation. support is good and everything else about this skate is goodReview by dontchecktherussian (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I skate 4 days a week , Very comfortable dont regret asking for them.Review by BigNate (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Besides the fact that they look absolutely beautiful, they really fit around the foot like a glove. Don't get me wrong, they are super stiff and really narrow when you first get them, but when they break in, that's all that matters. Super comfortable, super light, and super fast. Perfect for the forward that takes short strides to get to the puck quick.Review by Chubbs (Posted on 7/24/2016)
The Bauer Vapor X500's are the most comfortable skates I have ever owned for an unbeatably low price. After baking them it takes about eight hours of skating to break in but it was well worth it. I am six foot, one hundred seventy pounds and have been playing hockey since I was five. I use the skates for competitive rink hockey and the occasional pond hockey game. The skates are super lightweight and have plenty of support for edging and turning. The skate's do run a little big so do not get your regular shoe size. Follow the sizing scale and you will be fine. There are many great aspects to these skates and also a few problems to be aware of. The best things about these skates are the holder and runner. They are the most popular holder in the NHL due to the new trigger system that allows broken or damaged runners to be swapped out in seconds. The front and rear posts are 3mm taller than the traditional holders, which gives you the most aggressive turning and edging on the market. This is very noticeable when moving from your old skates to the Bauer Vapor X500s. With the added height, the skate does feel a little bulky when trying to crossover forward or backwards because you have to take in for the account they are taller skates. Because of this it is easy to get your skates hung up on each other while trying to get use to them. Along with the height, there is also a small problem with the blade itself. The blade that comes with the skate wears very easily and need sharpened often. The trigger system is a great idea but the blade itself is very difficult to get out. Besides these two flaws the overall skate is great and I fully recommend them to anyone from beginners to the avid skater.Review by Mike (Posted on 7/24/2016)
If any thing the Vapor 3.0 I had are in better conditions for the 3 years I used them. And these within 2 weeks started to un stitch on the top which annoys me.Review by Khan (Posted on 7/24/2016)
These skates are great! Apart from the fact that they really do look amazing and that everyone points and stares at them; they're so practical and comfortable. I don't play ice hockey, but I do freestyle skating and so far they've been holding up even better than expected. The added height of the skate combined with the strong support around the ankles provide great precision and speed with minimal effort. I would definitely recommend them to everyone.Review by Miex (Posted on 7/24/2016)
