Bauer has three different flex profile families in its stick line. The Nexus series offers a Tru-mid flex profile, which is easy to use and provides a nice natural feel. That's one good reason that makes the Nexus 400 stick a great option for an entry level player or a first time composite stick user. Another is the nice secure grip that you'll be able to get from the square shaft shape with double-concave walls.
This design really allows you to feel the corners in your hands and allows your fingers to sink in to the walls of the shaft. It's the same shaft shape that you'll find in the higher end Nexus sticks. The shaft itself is made carbon fiber and fiberglass and is available in either the Griptac or the gloss finish. Accuracy is enhanced because Bauer uses a power profile dual taper, which increases torsional stiffness and reduces shaft deflection.
This design also helps to maximize the load of this tru-mid flex stick to give you more power in your shots. It has a PU blade core, which provides durability and feel for the puck and the blade has a carbon fiber reinforced fiberglass wrap. The Nexus 400 was designed with the beginning hockey player or first time composite stick user in mind.
