The focus of the Vapor series of sticks from Bauer continues to be about puck handling and quick release shots. In order to optimize the load and recoil energy in the lower part of the shaft, Bauer has re-engineered the flex profile to include an aggressive taper that they are referring to as their QRT (Quick Release Taper) Technology. This technology replaces the dual flex zone Intelli-Sense Flex Technology that was featured in the previous Vapor lines that were headlined by the APX 2, APX and X:60 models. Among the many different testing protocols that Bauer's R&D team uses to develop their sticks, there was one test that was particularly interesting. They created a way to place sensors on their test sticks in order to gauge on-ice behaviors, specifically the measurements of flex, load and recoil energy. This test helped them engineer the Vapor 1X in such a way that optimizes the quick release of the players shots, in fact, their results showed that it loads 20% faster and recoils 28% quicker than the APX 2. These measurable and marked improvements may be why Bauer is referring to the Vapor 1X as a Difference Maker.
The Vapor 1X is a true one-piece stick. Just like top of the line Supreme and Nexus models, Bauer uses a single molding process they call Monocomp technology which allows them to remove excess material all while improving balance and performance consistency. Other shared features that are exclusive to Bauer's highest end models are TeXtreme® technology and the eLASTech resin system. TeXtreme® is a strong carbon fiber that is 20% lighter than conventional carbon, so it reduces weight in the stick without sacrificing strength. In the Vapor 1X, it is an eye-catching silver color and is distinctly recognizable by its large checker board-like pattern. The eLASTech resin system enhances durability by adding reinforcements in the resin that help reduce the spread of micro-fractures and helps extend the life of the sticks "pop". The Micro Feel II shaft profile is unchanged and has rounded corners and double-concave walls which allows the shaft to fit comfortably into your hands, resulting in easier puck handling and superior control. The 1X is available in a nice matte finish, or with the Griptac finish.
The blade of the 1X is the other main area of evolution in comparison to its Vapor predecessors. It features Bauer's AERO-SENSE 2 technology. This is a complex lightweight combination of a dual density AERO FOAM 3 core and an evolved SENSE layer that work together to dampen vibration and improve durability. Durability stitches create excellent adhesion between the core, the SENSE layer and the silver TeXtreme® blade wrap. Additionally, this entire Vapor line includes Bauer's Pure Shot Blade Profile which is that visible expanded throat design that reduces the amount of blade deflection or the twisting / opening of the blade while shooting. The end result of all this is a blade that is lightweight and durable yet offers excellent feel, playability and performance.
The Vapor 1X is arguably the lightest stick we have come across, but it's not really a mystery when you think about it. In addition to their other functions, the following technologies/designs (discussed above) contribute to the light weight of this stick: aggressive shaft taper (QRT), one-piece construction (Monocomp), carbon fiber wrap (TeXtreme®), shaft geometry (Micro Feel II) and blade core (AERO-SENSE 2). That's a lot of factors weighing in (no pun intended) on the overall weight of this stick!
The Vapor 1X is loaded with Bauer's best stick technologies and includes significant improvements over its predecessor. It is poised to be a Difference Maker - make it yours today.

I got one of these sticks and it lasted for almost a year of competitive play so after it broke i got two more and both of them broke withing 2 months of use each. love the shot and control i get with this stick but not to happy with the 1x or bauer right now.Review by anthony (Posted on 2/3/2017)
After buying my 1x new when it came out, all most a year last I just bought two more on sale. enough said!! best stick made and its the same as the 2017 model in my opinion.Review by RY (Posted on 1/5/2017)

best stick ever and also i've had it for a year and play defense i take hard slapshots from the point and never brokeReview by connor (Posted on 11/16/2016)
I've tried everything on the market and I can honestly say this is the best stick I have ever used. The shots and puck feel are incredible if your looking to speed up your shot and be more accurate then this stick is for you. I'm currently using the Sherwood EK15 and at 385g it's the lightest and toughest stick ever made and I couldn't be happier. I was planning on using that for many months to come but then I picked this up and yea it's a few grams heavier but after I took a few shots I was hooked. Any younger players who want to get their shot off quicker this stick will help that tremendously and for those who just love snap shots and wristers you will fall in love with this stick as soon as you pick it up. I will say if your a bigger guy or a big defender who takes clap bombs all day this might be too whippy a stick not saying it's bad by any means it's just meant for finesse players who like to get shots off as quick as possible. After reviewing every stick on the market at retail level this stick is definitely worth every penny unlike everything else I've tried so pick one up Asap. I never expected to own a Bauer since I've hated them and every stick they have ever made but this is something beautiful.Review by 7eChNiQuE (Posted on 7/24/2016)
This stick just gets the puck fast to goal and with very good accuracy. It has great puck feel and pop. So far I haven't found any cons but lets see how durable this stick is.Review by Hockey Finn (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I was lucky enough to grab one of these a few days before they went to the shelves (working in a pro shop is great in these times) and I was super keen to try it out, been using the MX3 since about July last year. My curiosity was built up due to the APX2 sticks getting such bad reviews from my customers, and I didn't even like my own to be honest. I think Bauer tried to do too much with the APX2 (especially in regards to the high and low flex points), it felt heavy and unresponsive and it they didn't have great puck feel.Review by Reynexxx (Posted on 7/24/2016)
But the 1X is a banger. Right off the bat there was good feel and control, super light weight and you can let a shot off quickly with even less weight to carry. I'm a big fan of low kick point sticks so it falls right into my wheel house, It definitely didn't disappoint. I think the graphic/design with the silver is pretty average but who cares.
I'm gonna give it 4 stars cause I can't say much for durability right now as it's only been used once but time will tell.
Hope everyone enjoys theirs as much as I do mine.
I haven't had previous success with an APX stick until now .. This things awesome. Well balanced, very accurate, & incredibly fast release are just a few of the things I noticed right off the bat. I'd say this is the first stick I've found recently that I believe's worth the retail price .. Not to mention I netted 2 my first game with it!Review by SnipeShow (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I received this stick as a thankyou from the store manager for buying a pair of skates (mx3)Review by Jdilla (Posted on 7/24/2016)
First off let me say that this stick is beautiful, great color and design. Shoots perfectly and has great puck feel. Honestly it deserves 5 stars. However my first time out with the stock at a simple stick and shoot, it chipped! First slapshot I took with it, the very front toe of the blade where it is supposed to be reinforced had a little chip in It. Luckily after the ss I went home epoxyed it and the rest of the toe and so far so good after two games. Hopefully it was just a fluke.
But the stick shoots and feels so well I even had one of my friends buy one because of how great it is!
don't get it it will break fast and right in the middle of the stick I've broke one and my friend has broke two. its bad!Review by joe (Posted on 7/24/2016)
This is a great stick, great feel and great feel. The only issue is that the blade is going soft and I have had it for a month or so. Also, I have not used it much, but it was worth the money and it is very light. Loved this stick, I just wish they had ways to make it last longer.Review by Duster (Posted on 7/24/2016)
This stick is great it's the best stick I have ever used. The only sticks that probably compare to it are the ek 15 and the QR1.The good thing about this stick is that I could take quick hard wristers and snapers but I can also take hard slapers with this too I hope this review helps youReview by Stick guy (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I bought this stick the day it was released and right off the bat the stick felt great. I had been using the NXG before and this stick felt extremely lightweight and excellent release off the blade. One thing however after using it for a month it wears down very quickly. The third game I played with it I felt as if it broke on a wrist shot when the stick flexed way too much. I've used it for the past month and the wear and tear is starting to take its toll on the stick. The puck does not come off the blade as it used to. Excellent stick from bauer but the durability is a huge problem. I will be looking to switch back to either the MX3 or try the NEXUS 8000 out.Review by Defender 20 (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I normal play with sherwood sticks but I suckered into buying this because they had a lie and curve that I liked. The stick had worked well for me so far but I was warming up today for a game and broke right in the lower kick point of the stick. I couldn't believe it only after 2 month of use this stick breaking. I had the same problem with other bauer sticks in the past. If you want a stick with super soft blade then this your stick but this stick longevity is not long. I would strong recommend other sticks then this bauer stick they may not have as soft of blade but will last a lot longer.Review by Beer League Rink Rat (Posted on 7/24/2016)
the best part about this stick is that its light weight and the quick release is unrealReview by sniper (Posted on 7/24/2016)
it's the best. no other words to describe it.Review by jimi (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I got this stick in conjunction with an ccm ribcor for the beginning of this season. Lucky for me, the 1x broke within a month. while i had it, i noticed that the blade was extremely soft and terrible for shooting as a result. Obviously it is not durable at all and i found it quite bulky and heavy. On the other hand, my ribcoris still running strong despite the heavy abuse it has had to take and i plan on getting a reckoner as soon as possible. Avoid the 1x at all costsReview by alfggiueqwy89 (Posted on 7/24/2016)
This stick is absolutely amazing. It has amazing pop, weight, and look. After I purchased this stick I bought the Stealth CX and it doesn't even come close to the 1X like at all. So 10/10 I'd recommend it to everyone up to and including toddlers.Review by Puck bunny (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I used this for AAA Midget major hockey along with high school hockey for a year. The blade broke on me during a practice and bauer sent me a new one even though i was two weeks late of the warranty. Ive been using my new one for about 4 months now and it has not snapped but the blade has noticeably became softer. It is the best stick I've ever used and its close second is the warrior qr1. I recommend this stick to crafty forwardsReview by hockeygawd (Posted on 7/24/2016)
This stick is really light, but breaks super easily. I bought 3 of the 1x and they all broke. They all broke within the first monthReview by Patty (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I usually use CCM sticks, but I switched it up this time and got a Bauer. This stick broke within the first week of using it. When I received the stick, there were no marks on the stick and was not broken. I always look to see if the stick is broken when I get a new stick. I would either go with a different brand or go with the supreme or nexus line, perferbly the nexus lineReview by Fillip (Posted on 7/24/2016)
