The focus of the Vapor series of sticks from Bauer continues to be about puck handling and quick release shots. In order to optimize the load and recoil energy in the lower part of the shaft, Bauer has re-engineered the flex profile to include an aggressive taper that they are referring to as their QRT (Quick Release Taper) Technology. This technology replaces the dual flex zone Intelli-Sense Flex Technology that was featured in the previous Vapor lines that were headlined by the APX 2, APX and X:60 models. Among the many different testing protocols that Bauer's R&D team uses to develop their sticks, there was one test that was particularly interesting. They created a way to place sensors on their test sticks in order to gauge on-ice behaviors, specifically the measurements of flex, load and recoil energy. This test helped them engineer the Vapor 1X in such a way that optimizes the quick release of the players shots, in fact, their results showed that it loads 20% faster and recoils 28% quicker than the APX 2. These measurable and marked improvements may be why Bauer is referring to the Vapor 1X as a Difference Maker.
The Vapor 1X is a true one-piece stick. Just like top of the line Supreme and Nexus models, Bauer uses a single molding process they call Monocomp technology which allows them to remove excess material all while improving balance and performance consistency. Other shared features that are exclusive to Bauer's highest end models are TeXtreme® technology and the eLASTech resin system. TeXtreme® is a strong carbon fiber that is 20% lighter than conventional carbon, so it reduces weight in the stick without sacrificing strength. In the Vapor 1X, it is an eye-catching silver color and is distinctly recognizable by its large checker board-like pattern. The eLASTech resin system enhances durability by adding reinforcements in the resin that help reduce the spread of micro-fractures and helps extend the life of the sticks "pop". The Micro Feel II shaft profile is unchanged and has rounded corners and double-concave walls which allows the shaft to fit comfortably into your hands, resulting in easier puck handling and superior control. The 1X is available in a nice matte finish, or with the Griptac finish.
The blade of the 1X is the other main area of evolution in comparison to its Vapor predecessors. It features Bauer's AERO-SENSE 2 technology. This is a complex lightweight combination of a dual density AERO FOAM 3 core and an evolved SENSE layer that work together to dampen vibration and improve durability. Durability stitches create excellent adhesion between the core, the SENSE layer and the silver TeXtreme® blade wrap. Additionally, this entire Vapor line includes Bauer's Pure Shot Blade Profile which is that visible expanded throat design that reduces the amount of blade deflection or the twisting / opening of the blade while shooting. The end result of all this is a blade that is lightweight and durable yet offers excellent feel, playability and performance.
The Vapor 1X is arguably the lightest stick we have come across, but it's not really a mystery when you think about it. In addition to their other functions, the following technologies/designs (discussed above) contribute to the light weight of this stick: aggressive shaft taper (QRT), one-piece construction (Monocomp), carbon fiber wrap (TeXtreme®), shaft geometry (Micro Feel II) and blade core (AERO-SENSE 2). That's a lot of factors weighing in (no pun intended) on the overall weight of this stick!
The Vapor 1X is loaded with Bauer's best stick technologies and includes significant improvements over its predecessor. It is poised to be a Difference Maker - make it yours today.

I had this twig a couple months ago i originally bought this last Feb. and i didn't use it because i didn't want to cut it down but last dec. i leveled out. so i started using this. right away i noticed how light this twig was. it has incredible balance. and the pop is unbelievable but it was very whippy at the time i was 5'5" 130 at varsity level so going with the rule of thumb i bought the 67 flex being about half my weight. i like a whippy stick but this thing was REALLY whippy. so if ur 120-135 i would recomened buying the senior version of the 77 flex. Overall nice twig.
I was at NHL fan fair and this stick was show cases and I loved it I couldn't ask for a better made stick. The flex point is perfect and it kind of pushes your stick when you give it a good snap! I enjoyed shooting around 500 pucks with it and it could handle any shots I took! Would recommend this stick to everyone that is serious about playing hockey and wants a stick that can help you out and go the extra mile!
I love bauer products and when I saw the realse of the new one X you bet i was already out the door to snag myself one. I am a bigger guy usually used an 87 flex on my other bauer sticks but the new one X seems a lot more fragile. I used it say maybe 7 times and within a week my poor one X broke. I could have gotten a bad twig in the bunch, or just maybe need to up my flex! Don't get me wrong it is a great product. Just if you are a heavy guy/girl up your flex from your normal!
