The Tacks lineup is all about maximum coverage and optimal protection and the Tacks 6052 elbow pads definitely delivers with the introduction of D3O foam technology. This innovative foam is built into the Tacks JDP elbow caps to help provide better shock absorption against both hard and soft impacts. So how does it all work? D3O smart foam keeps its soft consistency to absorb energy from low intensity impacts and instantly hardens for any higher intensity impacts. The molecules in this foam are continuously free flowing, this allows the “smart material” to remain soft and flexible, but on impact, the molecules lock together to absorb and dissipate the energy from the impact. After the impact, the molecules return to their soft and flexible state. This unique molecular structure offers cutting edge pro level protection perfect for warding off stick slashes, and protecting the wearer from big hits.
To provide great mobility, the Tacks 6052 are designed as a 2-piece construction. The floating bicep guard is constructed with Tacks molded foam armor reinforced with a large plastic insert. In the forearm we have a segmented molded high density foam overlay which is also reinforced with a plastic insert to provide a really good wrap and lightweight protection.
The inside is made with a premium moisture wicking lining which is very soft and cushioned so your arm will be dryer and more comfortable. For the strapping system CCM uses a 3-piece design, the bicep strap is ventilated elastic, the mid strap is reinforced lycra, and the forearm strap is a locking webbing strap that gives great security.
If you are looking for something that will provide a volume lock down fit with pro level protection, check out CCM’s Tacks 6052 elbow pads.

This has to be one of the best elbow pads i have ever had. great protection all over. not over bulky either, great fore arm protection too. This is a great elbow pad for a reasonable price. Not really a problem but the straps were really tight at first. took a few skates to stretch them out to make for a more comfortable feel on the ice. I would recommend these to anyoneReview by Scheif (Posted on 7/24/2016)
