Designed for optimal protection and maximum coverage, CCM’s Tacks 6052 shoulder pads redefine protective standards with the addition of D3O smart foam. This innovative foam is built into the 6052 Dual Core high density foam shoulder caps to help provide better shock absorption against the big hits that are both dished out and received. So how does it all work? D3O smart foam keeps its soft consistency to absorb energy from low intensity impacts and instantly hardens for any higher intensity impacts. The molecules in this foam are continuously free flowing, this allows the “smart material” to remain soft and flexible, but on impact, the molecules lock together to absorb and dissipate the energy from the impact. After the impact, the molecules return to their soft and flexible state. This unique molecular structure offers cutting edge pro level protection perfect for warding off flying pucks and protecting the wearer from bone crushing hits.
Ventilated molded foam armor makes up the base of this pad; its highly segmented and contoured shape sits well on the body and promotes lots of mobility while still offering optimal protection, coverage and air flow. There is also a free flow anchor system in place that lets the caps and arms move more independently from the rest of the pad. If you were to lift your arms up, let’s say in the moment of celebrating a goal, the entire pad won’t lift up and start choking your neck. This anti-lift system really keeps your shoulder pads where they need to be and promotes a lot of comfort.
Extra protection can be found in the molded foam spine and sternum guards. Both the spine and sternum guards are “floating” to further add to the level of dexterity and mobility that are offered. The bicep guards feature molded foam with plastic inserts for protection. What make these awesome is the fact that they are fully adjustable for a personalized custom fit.
CCM definitely delivered with the Tacks 6052 shoulder pad. If you are a player looking for optimal protection with maximum coverage, cutting edge D3O smart foam and ventilated molded foam armor provide pro level protection for you. Perform under pressure with CCM’s Tacks 6052 shoulder pad.

Sizing Guidelines: The chest measurement should be taken from just below the arm pits. Match the player's chest size to the shoulder pad that corresponds. Also take into consideration the level of play. Shoulder pads should fit snugly while the vital tips of the shoulder must be properly under the shoulder caps. The bicep pads should not interfere with the player’s elbow pads.

Good quality.Review by LJS (Posted on 2/15/2017)
Fits very well on shoulders, not bulky.
Im only 166 cm tall, weight about 55 kg and not very muscular. I got a size senior small, and it fits perfectly to my body's movements. (Like the Reebok 20k Senior Small)
If you do not have a big and muscular upper torso, then this shoulder pad and reebok's 20k really good because the shoulder cap is not tremendously big and bulky.
However, I think they could have put some more length in, because i like it best when the shoulderpad goes down to the pants.
a great pad! lightweight, does not restrict the movement, has a good defense. It has neat shoulders, protects the kidneys by double layer foam, and a custom sleeve length.Review by soloma (Posted on 1/26/2017)
These shoulder pads are the second down from the top in the Tacks line. They offer light ,great shoulder, sternum, spine, arm and bicep protection with their PU plastics inserts. The rest of the chest back areas have a medium density foam cups or dimples that offer light good protection. The only negative I have on these is the kidney area is just medium level foam and does not have the plastic inserts like the Ultra Tacks. This is really not necessary if you play a medium level or beer league hockey but it's nice to have if you play a contact game. I went with the Ultra Tacks for this reason, otherwise the 6052's would have done me fine. The last thing I'd like to mention is I love the black color of these as opposed to the white of the Ultra Tacks or 4052's. I really don't know why hockey equipment manufacturers insist on white for protective equipment. It turns yellow and gets dull and tattered looking over time. The Ultra Tacks would have been perfect if they came in black.( Just a note to CCM for future consideration.)Review by firstname.lastname@example.org (Posted on 11/19/2016)
These are very good shoulder pads from CCM. Overall lightweight and breathable but offers solid protection in all the right areas. Adjustable arm protection ensures no gaps or binding when fastened over elbow pads.Review by RadDadTX (Posted on 10/26/2016)
I did have the 1/2" nylon loop that anchors the arm adjustment come un-stitched. It was easily restitched and has been great ever since.
I ordered these pads to replace an older pair of Bauer Supreme which were on their last legs.Review by Paul the Pugilist (Posted on 7/24/2016)
The only real reason I ordered these instead of the Ultra Tacks was the fact these are black.
I don't know why companies make white equipment when it's only going to get filthy and turn yellow.
Anyway, back to these shoulders.
I really dig the elastic near the collarbone which allows for free range of motion in the shoulder caps.
I like to wear suspenders over my shoulder pads and they rest right between the shoulder caps and the chest cap- so moving my arms up during a celly is a breeze.
Haven't really taken any hard hits in these, but haven't felt any stingers like in my old Supremes.
Bottom line, these are a great shoulder pad which get the job done.
Wheel, Snipe, Celly- you beauties.
