The Tacks name is legendary among hockey skates. Boasting a rich history dating all the way back to 1905, we knew any new boot to bear the “Tackaberry” name would have a lot to live up to. Let us be the first to say, the CCM Tacks 6052 delivers as a price point skate with elite level stiffness and performance!
The heart and soul of the Tacks 6052 boot is CCM’s new Monofilament Reinforced ATTACKFRAME™. Comprised of stiff polymer fiber reinforcements in both the heel and eyelet facing, these attack fibers store and release energy as the player flexes forward; and when combined with CCM’s Formula T6 Core, the result is a boot with pro level support and explosive speed.
The new SpeedBlade 4.0 Holder design provides an additional four millimeters of height (when compared to the older E-Pro holder), which allows for a greater angle of attack and more aggressive turns. Complementing the SpeedBlade 4.0 Holder is CCM’s SpeedBlade Stainless steel runner, which provides a long lasting edge for long term performance. The holders are then riveted to a stiff Carbon/Glass Composite outsole which helps increase torsional rigidity and maximize energy transfer.
CCM’s commitments to fit, comfort, and attention to detail are easy to see in the new Tacks 6052. The Contoured Fit profile provides a close fit in the heel and ankle with a medium width throughout the boot. A comfortable Duretex material lines the inside of the boot, with Clarino helping to smooth out high abrasion areas at the high ankle, as well as the top of the tendon guard. Duretex is smooth to the touch, and performs impressively in terms of both durability, as well as moisture wicking properties. Add a 7mm Felt Tongue with internal EPE foam and external, injected, lace bite protection, and you have a boot that provides lightweight performance with superior fit and comfort. The package is finished with CCM’s Air System footbed; a highly perforated design promotes proper ventilation and quick drying time.
If you’re looking for a skate with pro level stiffness and performance at a great price, pick up the CCM Tacks 6052 today and go on the attack!

I had tacks 1052's and wore them until they fell apart and then switched to graf 735 supras and hated them. so much pain even after baking and weeks of skating. I saw that tacks were back and jumped on it because I could not do another season in the graf's. The 6052's were spendy at $529 but worth every penny. Had to go down 2 and half shoe sizes for the perfect fit. (10.5 shoe to 8 skate) They were comfortable before baking and fit like a glove after. I expected discomfort for the first couple of skates but skated an hour and half and there was no break in time at all. They are fast with excellent energy transfer. they are also pretty stiff and offer a lot of protection. if you like more movement you might not want to lace up the last eyelet or not as tight at least. They felt clumsy at first but i was back at my normal skating ability within a half hour. The tongue is sturdy and locks your foot in place with zero lace bite. these are a dream to skate on and i have only skated once on them, they can only get better. These are top end skates and will perform at the highest level. In my opinion I dont feel there is any need to go above the 6052's and pay an extra 200 plus dollars. you can always buy the hperyglide steel for cheaper than the upgraded boot. Buy these skates you will love them.Review by Tackman (Posted on 7/24/2016)
to be as honest as possible, these skates were great for the first week, but about halfway through every practice theyd loosen up too much, so much that i would feel like i was swimming in them. so i switched to waxed laces, wich didnt seem to do anything. and for the for the first half of every practice my feet would go numb because there were a couple of pressure points cutting off circulation, causing extreme discomfort. that was basicaly the only problem with theese skates till about 4 months in, now after last tournament, i can barely skate in them at all, due to the fact that the padding on the inside of both ankles has broken down so much that my ankle is grinding on the hard quarderpackage, also causing exteme discomfort. this is making me try diferent things like flopping the tongue. nothing has helped, im getting new skates.Review by dave (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I bought these after the holder on my U+ 06 cracked, and I decided it was time to upgrade. After baking these skates in, which was an excellent experience, they immediately enhanced my skating. I am not sure if it was all mental, having new skates, feeling more confident, etc. but I felt like I was able to edge more efficiently, I had more speed off the turn, and the boot literally felt like a full extension of my foot and not something I was wearing. These skates are light, strong, and they feel like a dream. The tongue is MUCH bigger (wider) than any previous skate tongue, but also very durable as it is heat-formed as well. If you flip your tongue you will be in for a tough time with these as the lace bite guard is a very stiff plastic, and the tongue is shorter than most others, it is meant to be a form-fitting shin guard. I used to flip the tongue in front of my shin guards on my U+ 06 but that led to some lace bite, even after having these skates for several years with no problems. The tongue on these locks between the eyelet rows INSIDE the boot and securely holds my heel back in the cup, as well as being low enough to allow full mobility. These skates were designed considering full conformity to foot and style of play. I DEFINITELY recommend baking these in, skating in them for a while (settle in to them, let them settle in to you) and then baking them again, with all the small comfort concerns that may arise, targeted. After baking them the first go around, I had some numbness in my first toe, meaning it was a little snug in the front of my foot, I skated them in for some dozen hours or more, then brought them back for a re-heat and brought that to the attention of the shop and they were able to correct the issue without losing fit. THESE SKATES ARE DESIGNED TO BE HEATED FOR PERFECT ANATOMICAL FIT, they will not break in with use, so heat-forming them is the only approach to a perfect comfortable skate, once this is achieved, these will feel like you were born with blades on your foot.Review by Paddy (Posted on 7/24/2016)
