These things offer great mobility and a snug form fitting fit, but the protection is not the greatest. If you're looking for something with better protection go with a tackla girdle or bauer girdle, but this still offers good coverage. I play High School Varsity hockey as a freshman, so I'm a bit smaller compared to some other kids (5'10, 150) and I've only bruised my hip only once or twice with this one out of about 60 or so uses, so it holds up fine. I did take a shot to the inner thigh however, and the bruise didn't go away for a month or so.Review by Swancantfly (Posted on 7/24/2016)
This is a very comfortable and protective girdle so much so that I am going to buy one for my sonReview by Weekend warrior (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Was originally going for size small but went with the Medium and despite other online comments the blue belt was long enough around my waist. Having warn hockey pants that I knew were too bulky these make me feel like a star. Fit and comfort is everything I wanted and going to a girdle was perfect for my recreational play.Review by n_s695 (Posted on 7/24/2016)
It feels great and is very comfortable. I really like the feeling about how tight it is. Im glad I made the switch from pants to a girdleReview by Dangler (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Overall this is a good girdle. The only problem is the belt on the pants. It's not a buckle which has been the case in my last two. It's a strap that simply tightens and there isn't a lot of extra length, so getting them on isn't the easiest.Review by SD (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I wanted to use this product for adult rat hockey. I'm 5'10, 155 lbs, with 29-30 inch waste. I purchased small and fits great! It's snug to put on and off, but when playing ice hockey - I don't feel any restrictions at all! I love the built in cup holder. I inserted a cup and no issues!Review by Amoron (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I had to replace belt from my old girdle (an easy process). The belt was not a buckle and a pain to tighten and loosen (my only real complaint with product). Also, the belt didn't loosen up enough to make it easy to put on or take off girdle.
I've had a few slap shot bounce off my thigh and didn't feel a thing. Been knocked on my tailbone - felt nothing! Great basic protection. But if playing a very physical hard game, not sure how this girdle would hold up:
* Upper padding is weak, I would hate to eat a puck around the belt. Padding is displayed - but really just a light foam. The hips are good, but the padding displayed above is just show. Same with lower abdomen area.
* Thigh padding and shin guards don't meet up and I have an inch of space there. Never been an issue - yet (fingers crossed, I'd hate to get hit there with a slap shot!).
Overall, recommended for casual play. Sport pants easily fit over them and I'm usually the fist dressed in the locker room (easy on and off, no cupped under garments, no socks...).
I play Jr's and needed something that had more padding, was light weight, and more comfortable than the traditional pant. I went with these because they had a lot of padding in all the right places, were really lightweight, and fit perfect. I'm 5'10 165lbs with a 33 waist. I wear a small and it feels nice and tight. I like the tighter fit because it doesn't move around at all and keeps you protected. I took a slap shot to the butt in a game and barely felt it. One to the thigh and didn't even hurt. These pants are the way to go. If you're serious about hockey and want to improve your speed, agility and all around play then you should definitely get these. I didn't like the other girdle pants because they seemed too flimsy and didn't have enough protection. But these ones are perfect. Warrior is a great company. Can't ever go wrong with Warrior boysReview by USHLBeauty (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I was using the $50 mission roller girdle for roller hockey, needed more protection and this was a nice upgrade. Way more protection of the hips and back and thighs and tailbone than the typical roller girdle. I wouldn't want to use this for a high school ice hockey team, but for guys that like to mix it up in roller or rec hockey this is a lot better than the roller stuff. The belt comes out, I don't even use it, like other reviewers said it's way too short. It's warmer than a mission girdle but I've played outdoors in 85 degree weather and I'm fine, not a big issue. Happy using it for aggressive roller, for ice I would go with traditional pants.Review by jake (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I play local men's league hockey twice a week. My Bauer hockey pants were great, but did not provide adequate hip protection and I experienced several painful hip pointers because of the loose fit and shifting of the pads. This Warrior girdle has nice padding that stays in place in comparison to the fit of traditional hockey pants. The built in cup holder doesn't feel just right, so I still wear cup shorts underneath. I am 6'2 180 and the large fits very nicely. Others have commented on the belt- not a problem, but I also would have liked a buckle rather than the friction adapter it comes with. Great purchase...love the girdle concept. Played 3 games so far...love them.Review by Bob (Posted on 7/24/2016)
