Durability and price are very undesireable

I just have to say that the durability of this type of mouthguard is marginal at best. No good choices for kids and adults for a mouthguard that is durable and will accommodate braces. I understand that it has to be soft on the teeth so as not to cause any trouble for the braces themselves but it could be a dual compound as in that it has a more durable compound where the teeth bite down and then soft like it is on the face of the teeth already. In hockey you clench your teeth especially when taking a hit. I feel the construction is a little less than desirable because they will split where you clench your teeth and it will be there in the mouth but will no longer protecting the player from injury at the most crucial area. My kids are not chewing the mouthguard in case you are thinking that way. It's just simply too soft so it doesn't last very long at all. These are very expensive when you compare the prices you will pay for a conventional mouthguard. Both the actual cost and the durability of these are very undesireable. If your kids have braces you will get to know what I mean. Basically I could not find any other mouthguard for use with braces that are any better than these so it's a take it or leave it situation.
