Achilles Protector Sucks

Got these skates in September and have only used them for refereeing and the Achilles protector already cracked and is all flimsy. They are comfortable but not the quality that I’ve seen from Graf skates in the past. Last pair I had for 10 years and this pair I can’t even get a year out of them. Very disappointing.

Great skates for the dollars

So far so good, still in the breaking in process but can't complain. Picture is correct as far as the holder is concerned not the item description. Foot beds are also incorrect in the item description, they are the basic throw away Graf version not the good ones. Currently in the desperate search for something to transition to after my Makos give up the ghost, shame on you Bauer! Fit is spectacular out of the box and I'm definitely liking the tounge and heel fit so far. Didn't want to put big dollars into something so different from what I currently use and these will make a great backup set. Still holding my breath searching eBay and sideline swap on the daily for another set of Makos but worst case these will get the job done in a pinch.

PK3300 exceeded my expectations

I have been using Graf skates for a while now and when I saw PeakSpeed line available at HockeyMonkey.com, I had to get me a pair. I picked PK3300 because they appeared to me as a good balance of price to performance, but it ended up being a higher end pair of skates than I expected. First of, it features modern non-absorbing liner to keep your skates and feet dry and it does work. Skates remain pretty dry and light while foot is still pretty comfortable as well. The boot itself is noticeably stiffer than 535S. Lined toebox is a nice feature as it actually takes up some of the negative space above the toes. It is lined with soft foam material, not the liner by the way. Oher than that, the toebox is exactly the same as on any other pair of classic Graff skates. Tongue is more of a designed tongue. It is thicker and stiffer where it needs to be yet softer at the very top so it can be tucked under the shinguard without being a nuisances. It also is somewhat relieved at the seam for (I guess) better lace-bite management. The tendon guard is stiff, but is able to flex unlike on G535S and other classic Graf skates. The skates are not bulky at all and feel light and small on the foot. The skates actually are pretty high end in appearance with the glossy material and neo-gator-skin tendon guard look. Eyelets appear to be brass so I do not expect those to rust. Top 4 eyelets are beefed-up with what looks like a stronger material similar in feel to a rough leather. The pair I bought came with Cobra NT3000 holder instead of Attack holder specified in the description which is a nice upgrade. The skates appear to be very well made and look pretty clean. PK3300 skates are noticeably lighter than G535S. In size 10.5R I measure 904g per skate including the runner (no laces). This is 120g lighter per skate comparing to pretty light G535S (without laces as well). I believe this is actually as light as Bauer 1N and other high end skates. I wear 10D and 10R in CCM and Bauer. PK3300 same as any other classic fit Graf skates needs to be 10.5R for me. Comparing to 535S, PK3300 have a slightly wider and more anatomical forefoot fit, but has nice and tight heel, with an excellent heel-lock. Instep depth is identical to 535/735 series of skates, but with slightly more room at the top eyelet. I would say the they fit similar to Bauer Nexus skates but with tighter heel. One thing that does not match the description is that the insoles are not "with a moldable archsupport', but rather a standard Graf Anatomical Footbed, with different graphics ( I am cool with that by the way). PeakSpeed Outsole is a nylon-fiber which is an exceptional outsole material. Although it looks pretty plain, it is know for hardness and toughness. I have not experienced this myself, but it is know that the runner nut tends to get loose in NT3000 holder. I have Implemented a fix a while back and kind of do it to all Graf holders as a first thing. It is basically just a replacement of upper lock-washer (there are 2 of them sandwiched from factory) in the runner nut with a rubber o-ring, size 0.28x0.06 available from Lowe's Hardware. This takes care of the problem and I had not had a displeasure to have loose nut not on my Old Supra 704, not 535S, nor on this pair.

I have skated on those for a combined 15 to 20 hours this far and it is the most comfortable pair of skates that I had and I did not even have to bake them. Runner is still pretty good edge, but I am not overbearing on stops and I use 5/8 hallow. I think the runners on my skates are profiled to 9', they are even a touch rounder in appearance comparing to my 535S runners.

Overall, I am happy with the skates. They are comfortable, well designed, and perform very well, and are of pretty conservative, clean appearance.
