Sizing Guidelines: Shinguards are measured best while the player is sitting. Shinguards, which are either too long or too short, will result in the knee or instep being exposed and unprotected. Shinguards should be secured with shinguard straps or tape. To fit properly:

  • Determine the level of play
  • Measure from the center of the kneecap to the top of the skate boot
  • Match the player’s shin size to the inches of shinguard

Great protection

I finally cracked my old Bauer Total One shin pads that I had for 6+ years, so I figured I would try the Warrior Alpha series. Used those for 2 months before I caved and went back to Bauer. These are great for shot blocking, dont feel much blocking some decent shots from the point.

Strap system is great, knee protection is great (added foam around the kneecap area helps a lot with falls, etc) and is comfortable. I just wish I didnt have to pay top dollar to get what seems like obvious protection out of a shin pad.

Great protection

I had a knee replaced and took a shot between the knee cap and shin of my old guards. Felt different with titanium there. These were the most protection I could get. No problems since. The bottom strap is short for me, barely reaches.
