Details

The Supreme line of skates features many of Bauer's industry leading innovations which allow the S160 to be a high value skate engineered to provide explosive power in every stride.

The S160 features a generous anatomical fit the Supreme name has become famous for. You’ll find a slightly wider forefoot with zero negative space throughout the heel and ankle which will result in a comfortable skate with efficient energy transfer. Inside of the boot, the lightweight memory foam ankle padding is contoured to the natural shape of your foot. To further the level of comfort, the 3-D reinforced Trueform tech PU quarter package has great heat molding properties which provide a 360 degree fit.

The S160 features the Form Fit tongue which is a 2-piece felt tongue with a high-density metatarsal guard to provide excellent comfort and protection from lace bite. At this price point Bauer includes their Tuuk Lightspeed Edge Holder which allows players to switch their Tuuk Super stainless steel runners on the fly. A hydrophobic microfiber liner covers the inside of the boot and is quick drying to keep your skates fresh, and help to prolong the life of the boot. If you’re a power skater looking for a high value skate, it’s worth taking a look at the Supreme S160 skate from Bauer.

Great Value

I was getting ready to learn how to skate and play hockey at age 37. Picked up these skates in 2013 because I was told by my local shop that they were the cheapest skates that fit my foot and offered enough protection for Hockey. Well- I skated 2x a week for a year learning to skate, and then I have been playing hockey every week for 3 years in them since. I have plenty of money to buy newer nicer skates, so I have been kind of hoping that these skates would wear out so that I can get some nice skates, but they just keep holding up. My feet feel fine in them (narrow heel and wide forefoot). I have taken 2 slappers to the side of the boot and they protected me well enough. Great value!

Buyer beware

I purchased a set of Bauer Supreme S160 from a very reputable hockey store. I knew these skates were on the lower end cost but at a couple hundred dollars I expected them to last a couple years. They barely lasted 6 weeks before the liner wore out at the top lace eyelets. I took the skates back to the store and was issued a replacement set as a warranty exchange. I wore the second pair exactly 3 weeks to the day and they started to wear in the exact same location. I spoke with another person that purchased a pair of S180's and they too had the exact same issue. Bauer is apparently aware of this issue since on their highest priced skate they have installed a "wear patch" I suspect to avoid this problem.

Usage Dependant

I played hockey for many years. I have coached and refereed as well. This past season I started reffing with my son and really put time and energy in to it. Several years ago I purchased a low end pair of skates for usage when coaching, these I used for my reffing. Half way through the season they wore out, tore, split, popped eyelets, just wore out. I purchased a brand new pair of Bauer S160's thinking low/mid-range skate should get me through the year or two... Wrong! I owned them for about 7 weeks, slowly broke them in a little skating here and there. After about 3 weeks of this slow break in period I started wearing them full time for reffing. After about 12-15 games and 4 weeks of full time wearing the liner at the top eyelets wore through on all four corners both sides of each skate. I also discovered that the boot was starting to crack (stress cracks). After communicating with Bauer their statement was "with wear in that area the skate sounds like it is too big". These skates were properly fitted, baked, and professionally evaluated so I know they where properly sized. My suggestion, determine the type and amount you will be using the skates for. Maybe they would hold up better and longer with less usage than I put on them. When I ref, I generally wear the skates average 3 hours each day on the weekends an average of 6 hours a week.

Great quality for the price point

Great skate for the money. After only getting into hockey a short time ago, I wanted a skate that would hold up well but was also inexpensive. So far these skates have been great!
