The Vapor legacy continues as the most popular family within Bauer's 3-fit platform with this Vapor X900 skate. Its standard v-fit profile consists of a standard width through the toebox and forefoot with a low-volume, narrower fit in the heel and ankle. While the Vapor fit may not work for every foot type, those who do benefit from its fit characteristics often swear by its “second skin” fit and feel.

The OD1N concept skate provided the inspiration behind the updated X-Rib pattern. Lab tests, designed to measure performance, showed improvements in heel and ankle lock which resulted in quicker cross overs and tighter turns. Additionally, this X-rib pattern adds structural support to the skate, and can be found throughout the Vapor line. Bauer uses its Curv® composite in the quarter of the X900, purposely built with a measured balance of lateral support and forward flex. It's incredibly lightweight and responsive. The 3D Lasted design plus the fact that these are heat moldable is going to get you an amazing 360° fit with minimal negative space and minimal break in time. The fully composite upper has become standard issue for Bauer’s top of the line price point skates due to its unsurpassed strength, durability, support, and feel.

The tried and true HYDRA MAX mesh liner is used in the X900, and has a reputation for its durability and moisture management properties. The 3-piece felt design of the Form Fit + tongue features comfortable 48 oz white felt on the top and 40 oz white felt on the sides with added support and protection for the top of the foot provided by the plastic insert metatarsal guard.

The boot sits atop a full lightweight carbon composite outsole with the Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder. This holder design provides an added three millimeters of height, in comparison to the Tuuk Lightspeed 2 holder thus allowing the skater to get lower to the ice for sharper, tighter turns without “bottoming out”, all while allowing runners to be changed out in seconds with the pull of a trigger. The holder is complemented by a high grade stainless steel Tuuk LS3 EDGE runner. When comparing the X900 to its Vapor predecessor, the X100 came equipped with the Tuuk LS2 EDGE runner. The LS3 EDGE adds another three millimeters in profile height which further increases the angle of attack, expands on your profiling options and increases the longevity of the steel with considerably more sharpenings.

Sharing much of the technology that is also found in flagship Vapor 1X skate, there is great value to be found in this Bauer Vapor X900. Check yours out today!

Not bad skates, but the quality is not the best.

Not bad skates and the discount price is good, but the quality is not the best. I am an amateur, weighing 100 kg and playing 3 times per week. I have been using these skates for about half a year and they have already rubbed a little on top of the boot, chips appeared on the outside of the boot, the sole began to slightly move away from the boot. Previously, the skates were better (Bauer Vapor XXXX), they lasted for 5-7 years. These will not last more than 2 years.

Can’t beat the price

I play 2-3 times / wk. High end skate. Baked once. Probably need to bake one more time. Played 12 times so far. Higher speed for sure. Not used to the taller blades yet. Will probably take a couple more months to really get used to them. Arch support not so good with stock insoles so probably going to upgrade. Really like the eyelets vs the 2X. Comfort and performance been better with not lacing as tight as I had to with my former Bauers. But best skates I have owned.

Great skate, will never go cheap again!

I purchased a pair of CCM 4092's and after baking them twice, wearing them about 12 times during games and around the house to help break them in, I just couldn't get them to not kill my feet. I finally decided to spend a little bit of money on a mid-level skate. What a huge difference this has made! I haven't played in about 18 years and never had a nice skate. Since they were on sale for $509 I couldn't turn this offer down. I baked them in the oven and after 3 skates they feel really good. There is a little area that makes my foot tender after a game but I'm not limping like with my others. I have never worn CCM's before and always had Bauer so maybe my foot just fits better. I'm not trying to say the CCM's are not any good, just for someone who's almost 40, I could afford to go up a little and get something that wouldn't take as long to break in. I only play beer league hockey but these will last me the rest of my life!

A winner

Just updated to the X900 from the X100LE, with plenty of life still left in the X100's, but gotta say it was money well spent. I'm usually a little skeptical about features like '3mm higher for a tighter turning radius' and those sort of claims, but after a couple of hours of feeling a little awkward on them (same happened when I went from the X70 to X100) I was really impressed, firm, comfortable and responsive; and I do feel like I'm turning and cutting a little sharper. Of course I swapped out the factory laces straight away. Other than the different lacing system, I don't see how the X1's could be any better. I love them already skating around 5 hours in them so far, but yet to play in them..though I can't wait. Obviously I can't yet comment on any durability matters.

Only con I've noticed is the eyelets seem a little small. Been a little tricky to thread them up at the top while wearing them with the rigidity of the skate. Other than that Im not sure I'm a huge fan of the regular Vapor styling. Don't hate it, just indifferent; but aesthetics aside, they're great.

WAIT! BEFORE YOU BUY READ HERE

I recently bought the x900s and enjoy the skate. However, I regret not buying the x800 skates. Why? Because I literally saw no difference between the two. The only differences there are is that the 800s are reasonably cheaper and the 800s are actually lighter weight! Otherwise these are great skates
