Details

The Tacks 6092 skate offers up a huge value at its price point. Although this is not the absolute top of the line model, many of those top tiered features trickle down to the 6092 to provide a comfortable and high performing skate for elite skaters. More importantly, CCM altered the fitting characteristics of this Tacks line to be more anatomical right out of the box.

Getting right into the boot construction, CCM used a high end, textured, and layer-formed boot frame that has that metallic mesh look. It has strategic reinforcements used to promote elite level support with effortless energy transfer, combine all this with the Tacks AttackFrame composite core and you get a boot that is lightweight, rigid, and thermo-formable to give an anatomical and customized fit all around the skate. This fit profile provides a close fit in the heel and ankle with a medium width throughout the boot.

Like the Super Tacks, the 6092 features CCM’s premier skate lining, TotalDri Liner. This is a lightweight liner that wicks away moisture very quickly and works well with the vented exhaust system placed on the outsole of the skate. These features work together to push any moisture out of the boot, keeping the skate even more lightweight and comfortable. On the inside, symmetrical multi-density memory foam pads wrap around the players foot to further enhance the customized fit and overall comfort. Another nice little feature are the smooth contour comfort pads found along the neck/collar of the skate to alleviate any pressure put on the ankles during turning. Moving to the tongue, CCM used a 7mm traditional felt tongue equipped with reinforcement layers to increase comfort around the front of the ankle as well as providing excellent protection with an injected lace-bite protector.

Lastly, we see the SpeedBlade 4.0 Holder which provides an additional four millimeters of height (when compared to the older E-Pro holder) mounted to the 6092. This holder allows for a greater angle of attack and more aggressive turns. Complementing the SpeedBlade 4.0 Holder is CCM’s SpeedBlade Stainless Steel runner. This is a high grade steel that provides a long lasting edge for long term performance.

  • High end, texturized, layer-formed boot frame with strategic reinforcements, elite level support and energy transfer design
  • Lightweight, rigid and thermo-formable AttackFrame core for maximum performance.
  • High performance moisture-wicking material keeps feet dry and skates light
  • Soft pad around collar of the boot for excellent foot and ankle comfort
  • Symmetrical foam comfort pads wrap around player’s foot for customized fit and comfort
  • 7mm felt with reinforcement layers for increased comfort and protection
  • Stiff profile that helps generate energy transfer with every stride and air vent to keep feet dry and skates light
  • CCM Fit System footebed provides great support and comfort
  • SpeedBlade 4.0 for proven durability with increased attack angle providing greater strides and cornering
  • SpeedBlade Stainless provides a long lasting edge for long term performance

Great Skates!!

These skates are extremely comfortable, especially after I baked them twice. They have great protection and support as well! I purchased these because my son who plays hockey twice a week, wore his skates out, so I gave him my old Tacks. I use these new Tacks about once a week in recreational hockey, and love them. I highly recommend for a recreational player.

Boot Creased Out

I had a pair of these - the boot just doesn't stand up over team. I skated in mine about 100 times and the boot is folded over in the ankle area - support is gone. I tried to reach out CCM and they said it wasn't a manufacturing issue. I liked them while I had them, but they don't last.

Great skates

Super tight fit. Great heal pocket. No hot spots or lace bite.
I went for a size 8.5 D based on the generic sizing guidelines. Bought a 7.5 EE. My feet feel light and quick. Toes barley touch the front. Just like my ski boots. I recommend ignoring the recommended sizing guidelines for actual fit. Use guidelines as a starting point to get in the correct sizing range. Buy what fits the best. I tried on a 8.5 D. No comparison.

Hurt feet.

I was upgrading my 2012 CCM U+ skates which have always been very comfortable with plenty of room for my feet. I ordered the exact same size in the 6092 skates and had them baked. The first time I wore them, my feet were in excruciating pain especially on the inside of my arch. I paid to have them stretched, but it didn’t help. I wore these a few more times and couldn’t wait to get off the ice because my feet hurt so bad. These skates are way too tight and stiff and don’t stretch. I’m giving up on them and going with a different brand.

Bakin issues

Upgraded from an old pair of 852 Super Tacks that had been pressure and heat molded. Not living in an area that I can buy skates so ordered online after much research. Much improved stride and mobility with the forward pitch of the skate. Love the way they improved my speed and performance on the ice. Baked to directions and have skated on them 3 times now and still experiencing some pain in the lower ankle region on both skates. Not sure if the 225 for 2 minutes are enough heat to properly soften the skate.

Bad skate

CCM really ruined the Tacks line, what ever happened to the vectors, U+, and RBZ’s, CCM used to be known for its wide foot construction now all of a sudden they made a narrow heel on the Tacks, I cannot even get my foot in, not to mention the toe cap curves not giving your pinky toe any wiggle room WTF don’t buy the CCM line

Very happy. easy break in, comfortable, great performance.

Previous skates were CCM Super Tachs. Skated on them for 20yrs. They got stolen out of my truck, Had to replace them. I was concerned about the feel, comfort and break in of a new pair of skates. Very satisfied with the quality, feel, performance and easy break in.
