Brand new for 2019 are the CCM Super Tacks 9060 Senior Shin Guards! As with the entirety of this new protective line from CCM Hockey, these shin guards were designed to give players elite protection, customizability, and comfort they seek to perform at their highest levels!

Starting out with the knee caps, CCM used their JDP molded-PE knee cap! This high-level construction was designed to disperse the shock of direct impacts such as shots and stick checks away from the knee.

Moving down to the shin, the Super Tacks 9060 Shin Guards feature an anatomic-fitting PE shin cap providing players with pro-level protection and durability. Additionally, there is a tape groove allowing players to lock in hockey tape keeping your pads stable all game long!

On the calf area of the Super Tacks 9060 Shin Guards, CCM incorporated a compressed molded foam with PE inserts, providing players with utmost protection and comfort.

Keeping everything secured is the upper lock strap and the length-adjustable calf strap! This customizable adjustment allows players to choose how the Super Tacks 9060 Shin Guards fit and feel during gameplay!

On the interior of the Super Tacks 9060 Shin Guards is where you will find CCM’s removable liner featuring a knee cutout. This setup provides a snug, but comfortable, fit.

If you are a high-level player looking for comfort, protection, and customizability in your pads, look no further than the CCM Super Tacks 9060 Senior Shin Guards!

To fit properly:

  • Determine the level of play.
  • Shinguards are measured best while the player is sitting.
  • Measure from the center of the kneecap to the top of the skate boot.
  • Match the player’s shin size to the inches of shinguard.

Shinguards, which are either too long or too short, will result in the knee or instep being exposed and unprotected. Shinguards should be secured with shinguard straps or tape, never tight hockey stockings.

Lightweight. Decent protection.

Took a couple of skates to break in, but now they fit perfectly. Don’t even need tape to hold them in place. Adjustable lower strap is great for dialing in the fit. Taken a couple of decent clappers, nothing too crazy, but enough to know that these do a good job, but definitely not pro-level. Anything under 80mph should be covered by these. The wraparound protection covers almost your entire leg. I was worried they might be too bulky since the Jetspeeds are supposed to be the slimmer/lighter version (bad reviews about the knees cracking kept me from going with those) but they aren’t at all. They’re lightweight, fit great and provide plenty of protection for beer league play.

Fantastic Shin Gaurds

These shin pads are the best bang for your buck in the CCM line up. They offer elite level protection and fit at a reasonable cost. The JDP knee cap has proven to be the most protective in hockey, worn by a majority of the pros. The lower shin is ribbed giving you even more cushioning from even some of the hardest slappers that players can fire at them. The inside liner gives a player great fit and cushioning and are removable and washable. I wore a major competitors shin pads for several years and found them very good but when I came back to CCM Tacks, I noticed an immediate difference in the protection factor. These are by far the best for protection from anything else I've experienced on the market. I will not be returning to any other manufacturers shin pads. The only negative I can find with these shin pads is they are slightly bulkier than some of the newer shin pads on the market today, but for the increased protection factor they are well worth looking into. I highly recommend these shin pads which I believe can be used from the advanced to pro level play.

Very versatile

I got these to replace an old set of Easton shin guards. Very impressed with the upgrade so far and I like the adjustable tab at the bottom of the pad. Straps are huge improvement over my old pair.
