New for the 2021 season are the Sherwood Rekker Element 1 Junior Ice Hockey Gloves. The Element 1 gloves are perfect for any player looking for elite protection with a glove that has a custom like fit and feel.

Starting with the fit profile, the Rekker Element 1 Hockey Gloves will be tapered for a more precise fit through the fingers and back of the hand with a wider fit through the cuff area. This creates exceptional control and mobility and gives it a fit that feels made for your hand.

The Element 1 Hockey Gloves feature an AX sued palm and flex finger gussets that give you a game ready feel and unmatched durability. This palm will feel game ready and broken in right off the shelf. These materials are also highly durable against stick tape, keeping them looking and feeling newer, for longer.

For the construction of the Element 1 gloves, Sherwood is using a 3-piece index and middle finger to promote greater dexterity and movement. A pro flex articulated thumb will also allow for great protection and movement in the thumb area.

Moving into the Liner of the Element 1 gloves, Sherwood is using a copper infused antimicrobial material, COP-R29, that will have enhanced defense against odors and bacteria that can cause your gloves to smell.

The Rekker Element 1 Hockey Gloves will have a great protection package thanks to the Triple density ethylene foams used throughout the entirety of the gloves. These feature viconic impact protection foams which layer strategically on the back of the hand to maximize protection and disperse all forms of impacts.

To give that custom like fit, the X-Tend adjustable cuff will allow players to adjust the cuff to fit their unique fit and play style. This will maximize movement during stick handling, passing, and shooting, without sacrificing wrist protection.

A precise hockey glove fit is important to provide ultimate hand protection and a comfortable grip. If you choose a glove that’s too small, you risk exposing your forearm between the cuff of the glove and your elbow pad, as well as potentially allowing your fingers to extend past the protective surface on the top of the glove. This increases the chance of injury if you are hit by a stray puck or slashed at with a stick. If you choose a glove that is too big, the joints in your fingers may not align with the splits in the glove finger stalls that promote flex as you grip the stick.

Start by measuring the distance between the base of your palm and the top of your middle finger, then take that number and double it. This will give you accurate, proper hockey glove sizing. For example, if your measurement is 7”, you should purchase 14” hockey gloves. If you measure 7.5”, look for size 15 hockey gloves.
