different from older version of 9950rg

I have used the 9950 Coffey for the last 12 years and on my last purchase (I buy a dozen at a time) I was surprised to find the stick is considerably different. It is no longer made in canada, but the ukraine, and thus the wood quality seems to have dipped. The curve pattern has changed with more of a tow twist, and the shaft is more boxy. So this is my last batch, I will no longer be buying these sticks. If you need a wood stick to beat around with this is it, but if you are looking for that just right stick, keep looking.

    Still best of the woodies

Used sherwood northland christian wood sticks for 40 +better yrs. Love the consistent feel of the sherwoods - sure they've changed some over years
but what hasn't? Like some of the composites and way the puck comes off the stick but for all around play I'll take a pmp. Like the length - perfect for cutting 4" off to stiffen up a bit. Only issue is bottom of blades tend to delaminate/ split after about 6 games.

Best Wood Stick on the Market!

I have used the Sherwood 9950 for many years and it is my personal choice, even over composite sticks. The stick can take some very hard hits and I rarely break one. The blade itself if great for heating and putting your own custom curve on the 9950. I always enjoy handing my stick to others at the rink to see their faces when they realize the lightness the 9950. I plan to use this stick until they stop making it!

    Awsome stick

Really great stick, good quality hadn't seen any bad things about it yet. I have the PP26 curve with 105 flex, its a good curve foe shooting espescially with wrist shots.Obviouly there are other curves that are customized too. Plus, its tall,i am about 6ft.tall and on skates its up to my nose.

    Great Stick

I use this stick for D league play once a weak. Awesome stick and very durable. If you think it's heavy you need to get to the gym and grow some. Great for slappers with stastny curve. Convenient for taller players.

    Why

When the 9950 is the best stick available, there is
no reason to hit the recycled milk cartons and packing peanuts foam inserts sticks. 105 flex.
And it doesn't get "brittle" when it gets cold
like the plastic sticks. If you are not pro-speed
you should get the 5000 for the 85 flex.

Best bang for the buck of any stick

In 30 years of hockey this is my favorite stick hands down. The lightest wood stick hands down but is very durable.

    Good Stick

I play on a competitive team, as well as two men's rec league teams. I go through about 2 sticks each year and this stick seems to hold up just as good as my one pieces do. Cheap which is good when it breaks, and stiff for a wood stick which I like being a 6'5" defenceman.

    Fanta-Stick!

I personally really like wood sticks, they have a great feel. The stick looks pretty decent as well. I am a tall guy and I play defenseman so the 63" stick with 105 flex is really good for me. This stick is not too heavy for me. On a side note I noticed that they aren't always readily available on many sites or pro shops, so next time I see these I am going to stock up. I wish they offered more curves for this stick (sherwood makes 8 but only produce 3 of them for this stick) Also sometimes the lie is mismarked on the stick (not sure why). These are great sticks for a great price
