Product Questions

Does the QX series fit similar to the AX-1's? I'm interested in how much depth the pad has off the front of the shin.

A departure from Warrior comfort and quality

I love my Alpha QX elbow pads, but the shin guards are not in the same universe in terms of fit, comfort and quality. The major problem with these is the flaps on the back that should serve as the calf protector. Though well padded on one side, the flaps do not overlap or even meet, thus leaving most of the back of the calf completely exposed to potential impact from sticks and pucks. The strap that is supposed to connect the two flaps is small and comically short, squeezing the calf almost to the point of pain when trying to fasten it. It also sticks to the sock since it can barely hold the flaps in place. I’m willing to bet its adhesive quality will not stand the test of time either, but I’m not willing to find out. I love Warrior products and will not use any other brand of stick, but these pads were a huge miss for an otherwise stellar company. I will be returning these, no matter how good of a deal it seemed with them being on sale.

Great shin guards

My son broke his MX3 shin guards and I purchased these to replace them. I think it is a good product for the money. I think compared to top Bauer shin guards it is not as beefy, but still provide ample amount of protection.

Nice Shin Guards

After purchasing the Warrior Alpha QX bundle I also purchased and extra set of these shin guards. I’m able to wear both a 15 “ and 16” depending on whether I tuck in my skate tongue or not and given the price of these shin guards it was an easy decision. I think these pads are for more offense oriented players since the calf wrap doesn’t fully cover the calf probably not a good idea to have your back towards the puck. I’ve blocked shots and taken stick slashes with them without a problem. I do really like them.

Was not up to the task for a D-man

I bought these after having used their Alpha series elbow pads which were great. I play D in beer league and every so often block a few good blasts from all over the ice. These pads BARELY did anything. Two decent wrist shots left two separate lumps on my shin that took weeks to clear up. Barely anything in the knee cap area for protection. On top of that, the edge liner kept letting hard plastic fibers poke through which were constantly scraping my leg every time I used them. I had sores develop in a few places.

I used these pads for 2 months before I caved and bought the Bauer Nexus pads. Unless you play F, these pads are really not going to stop anything except a slash.
