    Try Again!

I tried these laces last week and after two games they were falling apart. The wax is no where near the quality of a graf or howies. Save yourself the time and money and spend a little extra on a good lace.

    The Best

    The only laces I use

Once you go waxed, you never go baxed...

Waxed laces are an absolute must. They hold their position well and are not affected by water absorption.

    Great Laces!

These are amazing, they keep my skates tight, they keep watter of my skates, but once you tie them up tight, they are really hard to untie.

    nice upgrade

If you are an ice player it is most definitely worth upgrading to wax laces. They hold better than regular laces and less slack creep over the course of a game.

    Worst laces I've ever had.

Horrible laces. Almost impossible to undo skates to take them off b/c the that laces don't slide in and out of the lace holes at all.

    Mostly OK

The laces come in many great colors and I love the pink and red. They are really stiff, though. I had expected that after a few sessions, they would soften up a bit, but after a month of almost daily skating they're still VERY unbendable. I use a lace hook or I wouldn't be able to get them tightened correctly or loosen them after skating. The good side is that once I get them tightened perfectly, they will NOT shift AT ALL. The long tips are also nice, as the extra length makes it much easier to feed the lace through the holes.

    still deciding

Still trying to get used to them and frustrated because even though they stay in the holes they loosen while skating at the knot

    elite waxed laces

I use these laces at least three times a week and so far they are holding up great. They don't come unloosened while skating. When you tie these laces real tight it is very difficult to get them untied. Overall a good product.

    Best laces I've found

When skating I would find it difficult to maintain a consistent tightness from session to session with the stock laces on my Bauer Vapor x4.0's. I first tried these laces in yellow but I didn't feel any improvement. I then tried the unwaxed version in red as well as replacing the footbed. I noticed slack creep, overall loosening during just a public skate session. Went back to the waxed and can't be happier with the choice. Now when I skate, especially hard skating during game situations, the laces don't get progressively loose anymore. News flash to some of you out there, waxed laces are supposed to be difficult to untie, it means they're doing their job. I've seen no issues with durability.

Check out my review of the Bauer Vapor X4.0 SR Ice Hockey skates to see a picture of my skates with the Elite Hockey ProLace Waxed laces in yellow.

    Excellent !

You tie them up, play hockey for 2 hours ..... and you have to use a hook to untie them ! Excellent !

    Cheaply made

Got these when I purchased my new skates last week, they ripped after 2nd use. Cheaply made, would never use these laces again

    LOVE THEM!!!

Purchased royal blue ones for 7 year old and 8 year old who play on a competitive ice hockey team. They are in their 4th and 5th years playing. These are the best laces to date. Since they aren't yet tying their own laces I get plenty of experience with hockey laces. They have 3-4 practices a week and 1-2 games a week. These have lasted the entire season. So much easier to get them nice and tight compared to non waxed laces. With the non waxed as you pull them tight they loosen even before you tie them. The waxed ones stay tight once you've pulled them tight. Makes it so much easier to get their skates tight. Yes they can be difficult to untie after a game but that's because they hold so well. I'd much rather have that issue than have their skates loosen during a game.

    Good Laces

If these guys uses the same molded tips that Gorilla Laces have, these would be the best laces on the market, hands down. The only con to these is the tip tend to start breaking for me after about 2-3 months of use.

The wax level does tend to start fading away slowly, but I've had my current laces now for 6 months, and they are still better at keeping my skates nice and snug than regular cloth.
