Oakley visors meets and exceed the demanding ANSI Z87.1 standard for optical clarity. Provides distortion-free optics through the entire range of vision. Providing a nearly impenetrable barrier for your eyes against on-coming objects. Oakley Visor surpasses the ANSI Z87.1 standard for impact resistance and provides shatter-proof protection. Every Oakley Visor is coated with AFR, a specially formulated coating that provides anti-fog and scratch resistance properties to the polycarbonate visor, which ensures unsurpassed clarity and durability in any temperature condition.
Polaric Ellipsoid™ Geometry
Oakley’s patented Polaric Ellipsoid™ geometry maintains visual clarity at all angles of view, even at the edges of raked-back lens contours that maximize peripheral vision and protection. Conventional eyewear bends light rays and distorts vision at the lens periphery, but Polaric Ellipsoid™ geometry maps the full lens contour to the human eye, ensuring razor-sharp vision at all angles.
Plutonite® Lens Material
All Oakley Visors are injection molded from impact-resistant Plutonite®, an optically superior material that inherently blocks 100% of all UV light and harmful blue light.
Visor Decal Specifications
Oakley Hockey Visor Decals are digitally printed using 3M IJ160-10 Controltac Plus Graphic Film + 3M VS12709 Scothcal High Gloss Overlaminate. Oakley and 3M worked together to create a decal specification that prevents decals from fading or peeling in various weather conditions, and also resistant to human sweat.
Shield should only be cleaned with Oakley AFR Cleaner. Do not use any other solvent, abrasive, chemical, or commercial or industrial cleaner on any part of the visor. Do not use anti-fog products from other manufacturers, as they may adversely affect the Oakley anti-fog coating.
This has saved me many times, deflecting pucks and sticks yet allowing me to see. My first one had the tint on it and somehow had too much bending, until the tint film started to krinkle.Review by feuerkugel (Posted on 7/24/2016)
The clear one that i have gives me a beautiful view of the ice. Fogging, while the best i have had needs upkeep.
This is the second shield I bought first was a different company that fogged up way to easily even with spray. Oakley makes a great product, doesnt fog at all, no altering vision, no glare, fits great, Best shield ever!Review by Rob (Posted on 7/24/2016)
best visor i've used!Review by jerbear (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I play 3 to 5 times a week, and only recently went to a shield. Tried the other company first, and oh boy did it fog, no matter what spray I used or how i cleaned it. Even tried different rags/wiped etc, nothing helped. With this shield, I haven't even used a spray, and still no fog after about 10 games. Great product and will only buy Oakley visors from now on.Review by Jimbo in a limbo (Posted on 7/24/2016)
only bad thing was it didnt come with the screws and the holders, have to order them seperate, disapointed, but overall great visor! dont even know you are waring a shieldReview by flowsociety (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Great visor, you hardly know its there and it never gets fogged up which is most important. Highly recommend.Review by Atom (Posted on 7/24/2016)
After getting hit with a skate in the eye, I have worn visors for 30 years. This visor is by far the best one I have ever had. Very thin so it doesn't ever fog up. Super light. I am on my fourth one as they get scratched with use as any visor does. Don't buy any other visor, trust me have tried them all.Review by Old Pro (Posted on 7/24/2016)
These things only last a few months before the coating starts to come off and you get that "spiderweb" effect and the shield becomes cloudy and worthless. Went through two of them thinking maybe the first one was just bad luck. Nope. Neither lasted more then 2-3 months playing no more than three times a week. What a joke for how much it costs.Review by Jay (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I bought this visor to use when i referee. Within 5 weeks it developed spiderwebbing inside the polycarbonate structure and over time they have spread all over the shield. I've had this on my helmet about 2 and a half months and it is completely useless now. It's never been left in the sun or a hot environment. It's only ever been cleaned using the Oakley cleaner and isn't stretched or pulled into a different shape to fit the helmet. I've had Itech and CCM visors in the past and never had this issue. I'm far from happy considering the price.Review by Chris the Ref (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I've used this visor on both indoor and outdoor ice sheets. I play collegiate and use it on my practice helmet. minor scratches after 3 years. only started fogging this season. took a skate to the face, broke the helmet and didn't harm the visor at all.Review by MT boy (Posted on 7/24/2016)
