Bauer set out to accommodate the shooting styles of a broader range of players, and to do this they decided to offer a third flex profile that would complement what you would find in the Supreme or Vapor series. The NEXUS series is that third family with a Tru-mid flex profile. One of the first things that you'll notice when you pick up a Nexus 1000 stick is how light it is. In fact, it's one of the lightest sticks on the market. What makes it so light? It's a true one-piece stick, which means, that through the single molding process, excess material can be removed all while improving balance and ensuring performance consistency.
Bauer also uses its exclusive TeXtreme® technology, which is a strong carbon fiber that is 20% lighter than conventional carbon. Durability is further enhanced through the use of the eLASTech resin system - which essentially is reinforcements in the resin that help reduce the spread of micro-fractures and helps extend the life of the sticks "pop". The square shaft shape with double-concave walls is preferred among pros, and provides a nice secure grip no matter what shot you are taking.
The Nexus 1000 is available in either a matte or Griptac finish. A .520 power taper means a little more thickness in the hosel of the taper which is typical of a mid flex stick and allows you to maximize the load. This taper design in conjunction with the expanded throat of the Pure Shot Blade Profile means less torquing and twisting, thus improving accuracy and blade control.
The Power Core 4 blade is a patented dual-density construction which consists of Aero Foam II in the heel, providing torsional stiffness and improved balance, while the Power Core 4 material in the blade enhances feel and reduces weight. The blade also includes durability stitches, which creates better adhesion between the core materials and the blade wrap. Visible in the blade is the TeXtreme® technology, as well as a bit of texture to the outer coating, so if you are someone who only tapes a portion of the blade, that texture is going to provide an extra bite on the puck.
