If you liked the first generation MAKO M2, then you're probably going to like this one even more. Easton's main goal was to still have a stick that enhanced the concept of quick hands and speed to get the shot off, but with increased responsiveness and shot accuracy. This second generation MAKO M2 is just that.
Easton optimized the lay-up of carbon fiber and fiberglass in the shaft. Even though the first and second generation MAKO M2 models weigh about the same, removing excess material from where it was not needed will provide a more consistent flex. The shaft geometry has contoured corners with slightly concave walls for a nice feel. The MAKO M2 II is available in a nice matte finish or with the grip finish.
There is noticeable taper as you transition from shaft to blade, which is responsible for the mid-taper kick point.
The blade on this stick is similar in internal construction to the blade used on the higher end MAKO and M5 second generation sticks. It uses a multi-rib construction through its micro-bladder process. Basically, this means that there are 3 structural ribs that run the length of the blade with a combination of a bladder and 4 foam core inserts between the ribs. This provides a more durable core to wall bond as well as dampening for a great feel. The difference between this blade and the higher end models is in the wrap, where this MAKO M2 II uses a 6K woven carbon wrap.
You'll find improvements in blade stiffness and shot accuracy in this version of the MAKO M2 at a great value.
