I bought this for a friend because I found one on clearance, when I tried it on I immediately regretted the decision to give it away. I soon bought one for myself, if I didn't use a visor I wouldn't know I had a helmet on. Excellent fit, comfort, and light weight. The BEST helmet I've ever tried.Review by AlleyCat (Posted on 12/5/2016)
I was looking to replace my 18 almost 19yr old CCM helmet and I waited for this to come out as Giro has a hand in the design. It was very light and feels like you are not wearing a helmet at all. I wear a face cage and fitted it with a Bauer FM 7500 face cage. The Sales associate that helped me didn't know much about the product and after I tore into the instructions on how to fit it, we were underway. It took a while to fit it right and the Cage makes it look kinda long and goofy but, It fits great and it's very comfortable despite the long time it took to get the cage on. Skating with it is Nice! Well vented and it's 7.2oz lighter than the old Classic CCM! Like I said,...It's like not wearing one when you shave that much of your head. Visability is very good with the exception that I'm not used to the cage wire placement yet. Had no problems with the game I played. Like the fact that it's taking after the one piece design and it's very crush resistant. If you are looking for a strong and lightweight helmet this is it. Don't be stupid,... Wear a helmet.Review by Mark (Posted on 7/24/2016)
It is the new helmet from Easton Hockey. The helmet is very durable and very comfortable. You get the best of both worlds with this helmet. People say there is no difference between the S19 and the new E700 but there is. It has a new inner core technology that decreases the chance of receiving a concussion. There is a new helmet cushion that makes the E700 helmet very comfortable, it is made by GIRO a bike hemet company that helps the helmet feel more comfortable. All together the helmet provides great protection and comfortable material. You get the best of both worlds with the new Easton Hockey helmet, the E700.Review by The danglesaurus rex (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I used a 9900 helmet by Bauer and now I use the E700 and it's much lighter and it has a lot more protection and it's much tougher and it's a lot more comfortableReview by Matt (Posted on 7/24/2016)
It's too bad for Easton that CCM already holds the name "Crazy Light" because it would be perfect for this helmet. Forget all of the low profile styling and matte finish availability. The stand it with this helmet, as with the Z19, is the weight, or lack thereof! Even with an Oakley Pro Aviator visor mounted, it literally feels like I am not wearing a helmet at all. I thought that the M11 this helmet is replacing was light enough, but it doesn't even compare to the E700.Review by Jeremiah (Posted on 7/24/2016)
About the only "negative" I could state at all is that it "seems" like the padding inside isn't thick enough. Mind you, it's comfortable enough. It's just that my mind has a hard time believing that a helmet this light and contoured can actually provide top level protection. I hope to NEVER find out, personally! But, I've come to trust Easton, in general, and with Bell/Giro/Riddell now on board as well, I believe their helmet testing results will hold true.
I use the helmet for highschool games the helmet is lightweight helps me move faster and lasts a long time.Review by Sean, K (Posted on 7/24/2016)
this is a great helmet and i would consider it one of the best i have ever worn but you WILL get chirped pretty hard if you get the matte black because it is such a new concept.Review by mayray21 (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Simply awesomeReview by V-man (Posted on 7/24/2016)
this is a great helmet. Its got to be the lightest helmet out their and its tough. I couldn't get the matte black because i new i would get chirped to hard. Its by far the comfiest helmet if ever worn.Review by tickle the twine (Posted on 7/24/2016)
rumor that the matte paint scratches easy, hasnt happened 2 me yett so idk what thats about..... its an increadible helmet looks great(with white CCM 580) feels great, get it now!!!!!!Review by mid-state95 (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Purchased this shortly after it was released. Fits my large head perfectly 7 5/8. Also purchased different face gaurds and mounts perfectly. Comes with mounting hardware. Def looks better than the standard gloss black. Like the other RS gear you forget your wearing it. Honestly love this helmet!Review by Texaco (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Been using the E700 for about 2 months. Upgraded from the S9...big upgrade. I coach youth 2x/week, play men's league, practices, pickups, etc. Very nice helmet. Comfortable, cool, plenty of air flow, easily adjustable. I bought the matte black (wanted the matte white) but should have gone traditional gloss. I get alot of attention with the matte black. Not always good attention, including guys on opposing bench trying to talk while I'm playing, refs asking me, etc. I did take a stick or puck to the lower rear corner and the helmet dented. But, better than the base of my skull denting. I am ordering one for my son this week to start the new season.Review by Puck sammiches (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I just wore my new E700 for the first time, It's awesomely light and tough. It is only slightly heavier than a baseball cap. I took a stick off of the side of it and barely noticed I got hit. Great helmet, It's worth every dollar.Review by Luke AKA Skittles (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I had the S9 and I needed a new helmet if I was gonna play this year. I was looking at this and the Bauer Re-Akt. When I tried them both on this one was way better than the Re-Akt. It was more comfortable and it was light as a feather. I also put on a white CCM FM580 cage to go with it. If your debating about a new helmet this is definitely the one to get.Review by Sniper (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I bought this helmet because it was by far the lightest, most comfortable helmet I have ever put on my head. It fits me snuggly and feels great. After wearing it for a few games, one day I got a cut acros the bridge of my nose. I thought it was a one off and continued wearing it. A few weeks later, I cut it again. The suspended nature of the helmet allows it to slide forward and back a little bit, and with a little contact, it cut me twice. I will wear it for pond hockey this winter, but I am done wearing it in contact leagues.Review by My First Review (Posted on 7/24/2016)
The lightest, most protective and sharpest looking helmet out there. Easton has increased the comfort level significantly with their new style padding and Bells securing and adjustment system. This one piece helmet absorbs hits beautifully and is extremely easy to adjust to just the right size for your head. I've come to trust Easton equipment more and more because they are an innovative hockey equipment manufacturer that are not afraid to use new cutting edge technology in their products. This gamble pays off in the long run because they are setting new standards for safety and lightweight products on todays market. This helmet is no exception and will force other companies to upgrade and improve the level of their helmets. Well done again Easton!Review by Duch (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I've had this helmet for about 9 months now, and I can say it has held up awesome. Play 2-3 times a week in rec/rat games. Minor scratches, but it is the lightest most comfortable bucket I've ever worn. Doesn't have the pressure points I had with Bauer. I wish they would sell the inserts, like they said they would.Review by Buttered toast (Posted on 7/24/2016)
No worries, great buy!
I did love this helmet and the look of it but now i am very worried about wearing it again. I actually lost an edge the other night and went into the boards and my head hit the boards and I was knocked out.. So i am worried about wearing this helmet again. If it was so protective then how was I able to be knocked out..So I am very nervous about wearing it again...Review by hvsounds (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Very lightweight feels amazing on the ice good ventilation also. My teammates couldn't believe how light it was! It's comfortable and has Velcro padding inside incase u wanna take em out and dry/wash them. The matte finish looks cool but chips easy if hit hard enough. Other then that I love it. I had to buy a new helmet cause my previous one was stolen but am kinda happy now cause I got this...Review by Dtown Dman (Posted on 7/24/2016)
My only complaint is the first time I washed the removeable interior pads, one of them fell apart and I had to order a new set (only $10). Feels much like a bike helmet and I get lots of positive feedback on the matte coloring.Review by Kevin (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I had heard great things about this helmet and it is a good product (light and comfortable) but certain parts fail quickly. The chin strap broke within the first 2 months (the snap and strap material fell apart) and two of the inner pads fell out early on. I bought a replacement strap and pad kit so it was an easy fix but still a bit annoying. I would still recommend it but was just a bit disappointed at the overall quality.Review by Nrsgrl (Posted on 7/24/2016)
My 11 year old son received this helmet for Christmas. In a non-checking league it was cracked by March. Hockey Monkey replaced it after we sent it back at our own expense. He used the new helmet foe 6 weeks in spring season and now it cracked.Review by Hockey Mom (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Love this helmet so far. From my first game with it, I felt a world of difference from my old bauer helmet. It is so light and comfortable, it feels like I'm not wearing a helmet. It also is very breathable so it keeps my head nice and cool. Haven't had it long enough to talk about how the flat black holds up, but well worth the money I spent on it!Review by TOC (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Best helemt I ever had. Super light and fits perfectly!Review by Z (Posted on 7/24/2016)
This helmet is far superior to my old Bauer. It's crazy light, and the Giro fitting system is pretty sweet. I had it ready to go in just a couple of minutes of adjustment. The flat finish is also pretty cool--I get compliments on it regularly.Review by heja (Posted on 7/24/2016)
A couple of downsides: the materials and construction are surprisingly poor compared to the Easton Stealth S19 Z-Shock Pro. It's heavier than the Stealth, and I was hoping that the added weight would have meant higher quality construction, but there's a lot of excess resin/glue gooped around in there, and the high-density foam on the shell doesn't seem to be as high quality as the Stealth, either. The helmet has a much larger profile than the Stealth as a result. These downsides are pretty minimal if you've never seen the Stealth helmet to compare the two, however.
It's still the best helmet I've ever owned, and it fits better than any helmet I've owned, too. Incredibly comfortable and lightweight. Easton helmets are top-notch compared to the rest.
