Introducing the all-new CCM Tacks XF 80 Senior Ice Hockey Skates! Designed for the competitive power skater, Tacks skates offer long, strong strides and maximum force generation in a stiff package. Improvements in design allow for a more comfortable fit than previously seen; you might never want to take these skates off!
Boot
Quarter Package: A one-piece boot allows players to get more direct energy transfer and a closer fit for faster strides.
Stiffness: The XF 80 features a stiffness rating of 160; a thermo-formable core combine to offer ultimate performance.
Tendon: An all-new Flex Tendon 3.0 allows for greater extension on strides, which translates to increased speed and power.
Interior
Liner: The XF 80 features an HD Microfiber liner that offers high resistance to wear with an added EVA foam layer delivering fit and comfort deeper into the boot.
Comfort & Ankle Padding: A multi-layered memory foam configuration with offers next level comfort and an elite fit that wraps anatomically around the foot.
Tongue: The tongue of the XF 80 features a Metatomic Tritech construction. A 7mm black felt pairs with a foam core to perfectly wrap the foot for superior on-ice fit and comfort. An injected molded lacebite pad offers protection with a redesigned construction for better forward flexion in the skate for added comfort.
Footbed: A molded CCM Ortholite Ultra footbed offers ultra-lightweight comfort, and a molded fit.
Holder/Runner/Sole
Holder: CCM’s Speedblade XS holder returns; a quick-release design with metal pin and bladelock system.
Runner: The XF 80 will feature a taller blade (+2mm vs XS1), offering better attack angles, while the stainless steel offers a long-lasting edge.
Fitting: To ensure your skates fit properly, push your toes forward against the toe cap, and check the gap between your ankle and the skate's boot with your fingertip. Ideally, your skates should hug each side of the foot without creating painful pressure points or leaving too much space between the foot and the liner.
Youth & Junior Skates: If needed, skates a half-size up can offer growing players some additional room-to-grow, but further up-sizing is not recommended. Fitting skates with too much room in the boot will not support the players ankles and feet as designed, leading to painful blistering and greatly increasing the risk of ankle injury.
