Looking to upgrade their popular Covert glove line for 2022, Warrior Hockey is introducing the Covert QR5 20 Senior Hockey Gloves. With a new fit and feel, the Covert QR5 20 is looking to improve your mobility and control at the highest levels of the game.
The Covert QR5 20 gloves will offer Warrior’s Covert Taper Fit 2.0. This is a brand new fit and feel where the glove better contours and flexes with the natural shape of your hand. The goal is to make the glove feel like an extension of your hand giving you optimal control over every movement. This is achieved by the glove hugging the wrist and hand providing the ultimate in mobility and protection. Rounding out the fit is the AXFLEX thumb that adds mobility and dexterity throughout the thumb and hand.
Along the backhand, the Covert QR5 20 gloves will include Warrior’s Exo foams, which are extremely light weight mid-density foams combined with PE inserts in key impact zones to absorb those big slashes and hits against your hand.
The Covert QR5 20 gloves feature Warrior’s signature “Buttersoft” feel by combining responsive Lycra gussets, the AXYFLEX Thumb and Warrior’s anatomical stretch backhand. This gives the gloves a noticeable snappy, game ready feel right off the shelf.
Adding to the game ready feel is Warrior’s SmartPalm. This classic cream Clarino palm provides a mix of feel and durability only in the areas you need it. This gives a great level of durability in the palm area, which is a key part of the glove.
The Covert QR5 20 will feature the Wartech FNC liner which offers unmatched breathability to stay cool and dry throughout play. Powered by Polygiene, this liner will help wick away moisture to keep them clean and fresh throughout the life of the glove.

A precise hockey glove fit is important to provide ultimate hand protection and a comfortable grip. If you choose a glove that’s too small, you risk exposing your forearm between the cuff of the glove and your elbow pad, as well as potentially allowing your fingers to extend past the protective surface on the top of the glove. This increases the chance of injury if you are hit by a stray puck or slashed at with a stick. If you choose a glove that is too big, the joints in your fingers may not align with the splits in the glove finger stalls that promote flex as you grip the stick.
Start by measuring the distance between the base of your palm and the top of your middle finger, then take that number and double it. This will give you accurate, proper hockey glove sizing. For example, if your measurement is 7”, you should purchase 14” hockey gloves. If you measure 7.5”, look for size 15 hockey gloves.
