We kicked off episode four of our Off the Ice Podcast by asking the hypothetical question of “what separates the Generational players from their peers”? From there, our conversation segued into our conversation with ice hockey coach Rich Mihelic from HockeyCoach. com. Rich is an ice hockey coach that helps players of all ages hone their key skills within the game of ice hockey, everything from stickhandling, shooting, power skating, mental IQ, and so on.

For our consistent blog-readers, long story short, our audio for the Off the Ice podcast episode with Sarah Nurse was no good, so here’s the interview in it’s entirety. Coming off of an incredibly busy summer with the Professional Women’s Hockey Players’ Association, Team Canada’s Sarah Nurse joined us on the MonkeySports Podcast to give us some insight on the PWHPA and what they’ve been up to.

On this month’s episode of our Off the Ice Podcast, we had a number of different topics to discuss. Starting things off, we got into a quick discussion about the two hottest sticks currently on the hockey market; the Bauer Nexus ADV and the True AX9. We discussed our top five teams that we think made the best moves overall, and how the moves could help going into the playoffs. And the big topic as of late is Ovechkin scoring his 700th career goal, followed by whether or not we think he can break Gretzky’s all-time goal record of 894 goals!

Back in mid-2019 we, the Digital Content Team here at MonkeySports, loosely brought up the idea of starting a podcast. We would come into work every day and have casual sports debates, of all variety, so we started thinking: “Huh, these would be good topics for a podcast episode…” Each podcast will be live the fourth Friday of every month and will include a wide variety of all topics hockey related. This includes hockey current events for the month (big trades, highlights, hot teams/not-so-hot teams, etc.), new gear talk, along with player interviews!
