CCM Hockey Stick Fitter

Over the past 10 or so years, we have seen a huge advancement when it comes to the technology of Ice Hockey gear. The ability to customize skates and hockey sticks to your exact specs and needs, to machines that can read you’re your exact foot shape in the matter of seconds using just an iPad. For 2020, CCM Hockey has taken that a step further with the introduction of their brand-new Hockey Stick Fitter!

This revolutionary technology in stick fitting was developed by CCM in their Performance Lab and has been handcrafted to help provide you with the best available option. Using cutting edge analysis, the fitter studies your shot profile and flex point on various shot types and fits you with a stick that is the ideal flex, flex profile, and construction. So, how does it work? Luckily, here at our HQ in Allen, Texas we have one up and running and were able to try it out, so let’s take a look!

Step one is choosing the right calibration stick! These sticks were developed in the CCM Performance Lab and are used to help determine which flex and model you should use. These sticks have a generic flex point on them, in order to not influence the system in any way. Simply choose the stick that is the height of the one that you would normally use for hockey and proceed to step two.

After the initial prompts of setting the app up with your exact specifications, you will then be asked to take a multitude of different shot types. After you are done shooting, place each indicated dot on its respective area, as seen in the image below. This will measure the degree of the flex of the stick at its maximum point!

Following step two, the app will begin to process your results. In a matter of seconds, the app will provide you with a “best match” based on your height and weight you entered, your preferred shot type, and your shooting form that it gathered from the video! In all, the entire process was easy to use and quick as well, taking no more than 3-5 minutes.
