Following in the innovative footsteps of the Super Tacks, the JetSpeed FT1 is the first ever one-piece boot frame skate in the JetSpeed family. This is a highly refined skate design with leading edge engineering to help maximize a player’s speed on the ice. With its ultra lightweight structure and the monocoque construction the FT1’s are the lightest pro caliber JetSpeed skate to date that offer players two critical benefits: a complete 360 degree fit and a seamless energy transfer that helps generate more speed with every stride.
Most important to the JetSpeed FT1 will come in the new boot design with a familiar name, RocketFrame with LiteFrame 360 Technology. This boot is composed entirely as a one-piece boot frame designed to wrap around the foot for a fully anatomical 360° degree fit around AND under the foot – offering players with a close tapered fit throughout the entire skate. The construction eliminates the need for an outsole which provides greater “foot-to-skate” contact area and an unprecedented direct energy transfer platform to help generate extreme speed. With the new 1-piece design and the incredible heat molding characteristics of the SpeedCore 3, this skate essentially removes any negative or empty space to provide a 100% customizable fit tailored to the player’s specifications.
Equipped with CCM’s best, the FT1 is outfitted with TotalDri Pro liner; this is a premium lightweight material that wicks away moisture very quickly and works well with the vent placed on the underside of the skate where the outsole would be found if it had one. These features work together to push any moisture out of the boot, keeping the skate even more lightweight and comfortable. For durability purposes, abrasion patches were added to the liner where the eyelets are found along with CCM’s smooth contour pro soft comfort padding around the collar of the skate for superior foot and ankle comfort.
Moving to the tongue, CCM used their TriTech Tongue a nice thick high density felt tongue that was designed to offer up a pro level of protection and comfort. This will have a 3-layer construction with high density foams injected to sit atop the foot; these foams are also heat moldable like the boot to offer up a better and more comfortable fitting tongue. Furthermore, the TriTech tongue features an integrated lace bite protection to prevent any discomfort. On the inside of the boot, these pair of jets will offer one of CCM’s custom footbeds powered by currexSole. These will provide a customized arch support to further increase the area of contact with the skate which translates into an even better energy transfer and maximized performance.
Finally, securely mounted to the midsole, we are going to see the SpeedBlade 4.0 holder which provides an additional four millimeters of height and allows for a greater angle of attack and more aggressive turns. Finishing off the aesthetics of the skate and mounted inside the holder is the reflective look of the polished high quality steel that is referred to as the SpeedBlade Hyperglide runner. While the 10 foot radius enhances speed, the quality and hard finish reduces friction and drag for advanced performance and glide efficiency. Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Versatile, Fast
Honestly just got these and they are super light and comfy... lil pricy. The skate molds to your foot from the get go. I would recommend trying these on before purchase. I normally wear a 8.5D but these are very narrow and made me go to a 9EE... not bad but, sizing is a bit off and if your basing your normal skate size you may need to go up and wider like I did. Best skate I've owned thus far.
Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Fast
I bought these skates because of how well they fit my foot. I have a medium width foot with fallen arches. I immediately noticed how much more agile i was in these skates, the energy transfer vs my tacks was a really pleasant surprise.
Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Versatile, Fast, Durable, Great Fit
Cons: Expensive, Poor Craftsmanship
The boot is amazing. Simply amazing. I skate 3 or 4 times a week and play in 2 leagues. They fit great, lightweight, and very tough. Currently, I've had them for 4 months and everything feels solid. I've had several high end skates, but these top them. I would say they are worth the money... even with the heavy price tag.
There isn't any real major cons I can find, but there are some small things if being picky (why I gave a 4). First, and really not a quality issue, but break-in time. It took me probably 11 to 15 skates to break them in. I didn't bake them so I could have them mold more accurately to game day, but still a longer time than I've needed to break in skates. Second, is the nicks. This skate, given the material of the outter boot, shows more nicks and scratches than any skate I've owned this early in its life. To be fair, ALL cosmetic, nothing to the integrity of the boot, but be prepared to see some chips immediately if you play comparatively. Doesn't bug me at all, but some out there might not like how quickly they "beat up."
