The Tacks name is legendary among hockey skates. Boasting a rich history dating all the way back to 1905, we knew any new boot to bear the “Tackaberry” name would have a lot to live up to. Let us be the first to say, CCM has delivered!
The heart and soul of the CCM Tacks boot is its new ATTACKFRAME™ technology. Comprised of extra-stiff, composite reinforcements in both the heel and eyelet facing, these attack fibers store and release energy as the player flexes forward; and when combined with CCM’s Formula T6 Pro Core, the result is an ultra-responsive boot with explosive speed.
The new SpeedBlade 4.0 Holder design provides an additional four millimeters of height (when compared to the older E-Pro holder), which allows for a greater angle of attack and more aggressive turns. Complementing the SpeedBlade 4.0 Holder is CCM’s new HyperGlide Runners, which consist of a hard, mirror-polished stainless steel that holds an edge well, while reducing friction on the ice - equating to less drag and greater speed. The holders are then riveted to an Extra-stiff Vented Carbon Composite Outsole which helps increase torsional rigidity and maximize energy transfer.
CCM’s commitments to fit, comfort, and attention to detail are easily found in the new Tacks skate. The Contoured Fit profile provides a close fit in the heel and ankle with a medium width throughout the boot. A pro grade, Durable Clarino lines the inside of the boot, with additional Clarino helping to smooth out high abrasion areas at the high ankle, as well as the top of the tendon guard. The synthetic, leather-like material is smooth to the touch, and is still an industry standard in terms of both durability, as well as moisture wicking properties. Add a Pro Felt Tongue with internal EPE foam as well as external lace bite pro tection, and you have a boot that provides lightweight performance with superior fit and comfort.
Last but not least, Custom Support Insoles let you choose your level of arch support. This is a small improvement that will make a tremendous difference in terms of comfort, support, and power transfer for many skaters who, up until now, had to resort to aftermarket footbeds for a true custom fit.

These skates are incredible. The baking was a little different that what I am used to but I went with it, they are so comfortable right out of the box which is surprising considering how stiff they are. You get what you pay forReview by email@example.com (Posted on 1/18/2017)
I came from having very soft ccm crazy lights to this very stiff boot, although the trasition took about a week or two i fell in love with these skates very quickly. but after having these skates now for about half a year now they are beginning to turn very soft, not much you can do about that now days with any skate tho. overall i highly recommend these skates, even now as the boot begins to soften up a little i still very much enjoy them.Review by scooter1234 (Posted on 11/28/2016)
I was worried about these skates "pre-bake" as they seemed to not fit that great. After going down roughly a size and a half and baking, these skates fit better than any skate I have ever worn. I literally had to keep going down sizes until I got a tight heel lock. I originally purchased the skates due to the 30 day warranty however I won't be brining them back. I also had no break in time. Coming from totalones it was an easy transition. CCM did it right with this line.Review by pds (Posted on 7/24/2016)
CCM dropping new tacks was obviously big news period. Being a fan of the Tacks all my life, I had to pick these up. i had been in Total one NXGs prior to these and frankly the construction of these blew em out of the water. A very solid construction to the boot helps get me get on my toes, and helps me have an even quicker stride coming out of a transition. In fact, these things were built for transitional hockey. CCM is BACK, TACKS ARE BACK!Review by Thegoon (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Between playing, practice and coaching I am on the ice at least four to five days a week. Thats a lot of time in my skates and I absolutely love my CCM TACKS! After baking the skates they fit like a glove. The light weight and great fit has given me noticeably better performance on the ice. Bottom line these are the best skates I have ever owned!Review by Norcalhockey (Posted on 7/24/2016)
These skates are the epitome of awesome. I came to these skates after wearing a pair of Bauer Apx 2s and I must say that these have impressed me far more than the Apx 2s ever did. These skates are light, form fitting, durable, and well built. They are made for the powerful skater who accelerates quickly and they have increased my ability to do so. Must buyReview by The next Erik Karlsson (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I am a referee and am on the ice four days a week, reffing everything from novice to jr B hockey. I am skating sometimes up to six games a day and by the end of the night my feet are still not sore. I had them baked once and immediately they were comfortable to skate in. CCM really lived up to the tacks legend.Review by JR Ref (Posted on 7/24/2016)
This was my first time purchasing a top of the line skate and I am happy with my purchase. The skates are quite stiff and take a little bit of getting used to in that regard, especially coming from lower end, softer skates. I cannot compare these to other top of the line models other than to say that the fit profile fit my foot quite well and while the VERY stiff boot is probably not for everyone, I found that it works very well for me. I am a mobile, jump into the rush defenseman who also blocks shots. I rely on my skating ability and my quick acceleration. I am not going to say these skates make my skating better on their own, but they feel great and that in itself makes my skating better.Review by Mobile, two-way Defenseman (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I can not be happier with this purchase. Time ago I had B 1000, which was disaster, then I went for CCM Vector 8, huge upgrade to what I experienced with B 1000, but these new Tacks, how to say it..insane!!! The speed, the comfort, blades sent from heaven, extremely supportive, improving your game big time. Just WOW...my brother in law made the same purchase, same feeling for him..Review by Bob the Voyager (Posted on 7/24/2016)
