The NEXUS series of sticks is the family in the Bauer stick line-up with a Tru-mid flex profile. If you are a player that is looking for a well-balanced stick with a quick, effortless release with natural power, you should give these a serious look.
The Nexus 8000 is a true one-piece stick which means that through the single molding process, which Bauer refers to as their Monocomp Technology, they can remove excess material all while improving balance and ensuring performance consistency. This is the main reason why this stick is as light as it is. Bauer also uses its exclusive TeXtreme® technology, which is a strong carbon fiber that is 20% lighter than conventional carbon. The eLASTech resin system (reinforcements in the resin that help reduce the spread of micro-fractures) can be found in the senior and intermediate models and helps extend the life of the sticks "pop" while enhancing the overall durability of the stick. The square shaft shape with double-concave walls is preferred among pros, and provides a nice secure grip no matter what shot you are taking. The Nexus 8000 is available in a nice matte finish or with the Griptac finish.
Moving further down the stick, you will find the Nexus Power Taper. Sometimes referred to as the .520 power taper, this means a little more thickness in the hosel of the taper to boost torsional stiffness in order to allow you to maximize the load. Bauer's expanded throat of the Pure Shot Blade Profile also means less torquing and twisting, thus improving accuracy and blade control.
The blade of the Nexus 8000 stick features the Power Sense Core. This energy absorbent core maximizes power and feel for the puck. There is also a lightweight Aero Foam 3 component in the heel that improves balance and core stability. Bauer's SENSE technology is yet another component of the blade core which improves durability, control and shot acceleration. The blade wrap features the same TeXtreme® technology that is used in the shaft and is finished with a light texture to the outer coating. If you are someone who only tapes a portion of the blade, that texture is going to provide an extra bite on the puck.
Natural feel, enhanced durability, and lightweight are what you'll get in this high performance Tru-mid flex Nexus 8000 stick.

I bought the 77Flex P92 Ovechkin, as an upgrad from a CCM 44K, so this stick was a huge improvement for me. I've used it about 6 times now and absolutely love it. Its light, stick handles very well, and I can know whip some respectable wrist and slap shots. Can't speak to the guys who regularly drop $200+ on sticks but for the average beer leaguer, this stick is badass!Review by Mike (Posted on 12/15/2016)
Coming from Easton and Warriors for a long time, this stick is a huge disappointment. The difference between this stick and an Easton can be described as the difference between a buick and a go cart. The stick is entirely unconnected from the puck and the ice. With other sticks, there is constant tactile communication coming through the stick of everything going on on the ice. Not so with this stick. It is uncommunicative.Review by jaybone (Posted on 10/9/2016)
Further, the release on the stick is wrong for both wrist shots and slap shots. The puck simply does not come off the blade hot. The puck comes off the blade like teenager getting out of bed in the morning: sluggish and sometimes not at all. Look elsewhere for a premium stick.
This is an amazing new stick from Bauer. Compared to the old Nexus 1000, this has way more pop and feel in the blade. I also like that the griptac goes all the way down to the heel of the blade, not about 3/4 the way down the shaft like other sticks. The Nexus 8000 also has a really quick release, but you can also get a powerful slapshot or one timer off with it. Overall, this is an amazing stick and I would recommend it to players that take a lot of snapshots and slapshots that want a stick that will last.Review by Big Hen (Posted on 7/24/2016)

I use this stick in my minnesota high school hockey and it snapped in 2 weeks. very light but not long lasting. recommend getting NXG or APX2.Review by BIg Boy (Posted on 7/24/2016)
Please beware of Bauer products! Bought this stick for my son in May - after hockey season. Didn't get to use it until a recent hockey tournament Ð as mentioned hockey season was over when I purchased the stick and gave it to him. Stick broke after only a couple times of using it. Called Bauer and explained it was outside the 30 day return policy but it was given as a gift after hockey season and he just got to use it. They asked me to send pics. They agreed it was barely used but refuse to stand behind their product. Called local stores that carry hockey equipment and was told my first mistake was buying a Bauer stick to begin with. They break easily!!! Buyer Beware! For $259 - I would NOT recommend this stick!Review by Denise (Posted on 7/24/2016)
This stick is nice and light, shoots well, grippy, but not to grippy, just the right amount. When it got to my house i was super excited and ready to use it... but then i put it standing up to me without skates and it is short. I am about 6'1"- 6'2" so it was 2-3 inches to short. Luckily i had a carbon extension and cut it down to my length. It made the stick probable like 10 grams heavier and made it about 80 flex which I am fine with. This overall is a very nice stick but if your tall like me beware.Review by Dont worry about it (Posted on 7/24/2016)
so for the first week it was one of the best sticks I've ever used then it lost all its pop and was almost like rubber it didn't break but it wasn't even worth bringing into the rink. I have a 1x and an MX3 and out of all 3 i like the MX3 great stick... unlike the nexusReview by howie rockhill (Posted on 7/24/2016)
I'm a crafty center man and I would not recommend this stick unless you are a defender that likes to take heavy shots. I now the 1x and QR1 and both are amazing.Review by Snipes show (Posted on 7/24/2016)
First off i dont think any stick under 450 grams is gonna be very durable, like comon people enough wth the breaks easy stuff they all do.Review by CONNOR MCJESUS (Posted on 7/24/2016)
i love it, only used about 5 times but passing and wristshots r amazing. You can really feel the puck on the blade so your shots always go where u wan them. better than a lopt of sticks i tried but i still am a big fan of the CCM line
